    Ok so 3DS...

Ok so ive given up on online pc gaming for the foreseable future, as its just turning into a market which targets ripping off their customers.

The real money AH for D3 was the icing on the cake.. **** all the DLC bullshit, rip off merchants looking to rape my wallet, i wont stand for it!

So im returning to Nintendo, they never let me down, but i dont like the wii, so i went 3DS.

Can anybody suggest some games to get? I currently have Zelda OOT which im flying through FAST, also prof layton and pandora's box. I'm also on the hunt for Chrono trigger, which i never played due to regional issues and i hate pc rom conversions.

So besides Chrono trigger, can someone advise me on some good games to get ?

Ones that stand out are the pokemon black/white, the other zelda DS titles and im also hearing the castlevania games are off the hook. This be true?

Can anybody confirm? the games are pricey considering its a handheld, so just looking on some insight. I am nintendo noob these days

Also any cool games in the works that i should keep an eye out on?

Thanks in advance you super awesome peoplez!

I'll help out even if you don't like me lol.

The Pokemon Black/White games are great, and the replay value seems better in these two to me. If you were ever a Legend of Zelda fan that Ocarina of Time 3DS won't let you down. It's a great game that enhances the story with some pretty darn good graphics. Also, yes the rumors on the Castlevania games are true...they are awesome.

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

As far as DS goes, I would definitely recommend the Castlevania games, especially Dawn of Sorrow. It's good old, classic 'Vania, and I had an absolute blast playing it.

The one games I would recommend to anyone for DS is The World Ends With You. If you like really unique games, this one is for you. It's an RPG, but by no means a run of the mill one. The story, characters and gameplay are amazing.

Also, all the Pokemon, especially Black and White are great.

I would also recommend the remakes of FFIII and IV, they are really good and a lot of fun. Also FF 4 Warriors of Light is one I would get too.

Also, I'm probably going to get a 3DS soon, solely at the moment for Ocarina of Time. That looks amazing. Also Kid Icarus: Uprising is coming out soon, so I'll get that too.

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

The DS Advance Wars games are phenomenal. And yes, the Castlevania games are quite good.

As for some of the upcoming 3DS titles, I was hands-on with Star Fox on Tuesday night and it was really... REALLY well done. I also played the rest of the fall lineup, and not a single one of Nintendo's titles was bad. Some were certainly better than others, but nothing seemed like it would be any worse than decent.

Pokémon Rumble Blast was something I had zero interest in buying, and then after playing it for a while, I decided it was a game I'd need to have in my collection. Now, it's still probably not up your alley, but you never know.

Mario Kart 7 was phenomenal... probably the best I've played since, well, Mario Kart DS. (Personal opinion, MKDS successfully mixed new tracks with remasters of old and had the tightest control scheme of a MK to date at that time. MK7 for the 3DS seemed better than that.)

Super Mario Land 3D is also slated for this season, so if you want a new platformer, it'll be waiting for you on shelves in a couple months.

Nintendo didn't actually talk release dates for those 3DS titles at our Conference (aside from the already announced Star Fox date), but they're more or less confirmed for holiday 2011.

One game that really surprised me was Dementium II. I wasn't expecting a first person game to be entertaining or even functional on the DS, but Dementium II is both. Has some pretty decent scare moments, too.

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

sry Mush but fps on anything but a pc is just lame, the only fps that ever worked.. was Metroid on the game cube.. i need a keyboard and mouse to enjoy fps..I'm a surgeon with a keyboard and mouse...

Ive been shopping around the game stores in my area and cant find any Castlevania games or Chrono trigger, gonna have to order most of my games online.. God damn Ireland sucks..

Really enjoying pokemon white atm, only having 4 moves is lame though but adds to the overall difficulty. I made the mistake of having one of my main pokemon learn cut, which cant be unlearened for some stupid reason, is there anyway around this or should i just abandon him?

Anyway, back on topic.. Can someone name some RPG's for the DS/3DS that would be on par with Final fantasy in terms of story? I love me a good story..

So far RPG's i must get are:

    Chrono trigger

I've seen some FF titles, are these good? Story wise, or are they kinda dull like pokemon story??

I also picked up Mario64 but im running around as yoshi??? wtf??? i was looking forward to playing through the N64 one again, not loving yoshi on this occasion...

I was loving professor layton up until i started getting alot of math problems, i hate math..

Anyway, keep the wisdom coming peeps, mucho appreciated

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

I'm inclined to agree that FPSs are useless without a keyboard and mouse (CoD4 ftw), but Dementium isn't an FPS, it's more like a first person prison simulator. Lots of shanking and surprisingly little gunplay. That's probably why it works so well.

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

Well you should know about FFIV's story (I hope), which they added a scene or two to the story. Since FFIII is originally a NES game the story is pretty basic stuff. They did change the onion knights into actual characters and gave them a little story. As for FF: 4 Heroes of Light that is an old-school RPG, story is nothing like the later FFs but I have enjoyed it so far.

I've heard good things about Radiant Historia an RPG by Atlus. There are a couple of Shin Megami games for the DS as well. Finally there are 4 Dragon Quest games that are on the DS: IV, V, VI, & IX. All good if you like those types of games.

    Main series FFs Beaten - FF: 4x, FFII: 3x, FFIII: 3x, FFIV: 3x, FFV: 3x, FFVI: 4x, FFVII: 5x, FFVIII: 5x, FFIX: 3x, FFX: 4x, FFXII: 3x, FFXIII: 2x, FFXV: 2x

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

I haven't played the FF's prior to FF7, reason being, they weren't released in my country. I tried FF5 on a pc emulator but stopped playing when i got to Caesar is it? just didnt like playing it on the pc.. the graphics were clunky and unpolished, cons were outweighing the pros for me...

So i have no experience really prior to 7... So FF4 has a good story and FF3 is poop ?

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

I wouldn't say FFIII's story is horrible, just a bit a bit above basic. Final Fantasy IV is when the series truly began focusing on story. It offers a fine experience though there is a certain aspect I do not care for in the story. That is just me, the story is largely held in high regards overall and as a SNES title.

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

You should definitely put in some hours with Radiant Historia! It has a unique battle system that requires you basically being able to create the most damage by shoving the monsters into each other with techniques like Left/Right Assault, then ending it with a special attack or element. The other thing about the game is it's very Chrono Trigger-esque as you more or less move between Time to unlock special items or twists in the story. The story doesn't suck either, most of the characters are interesting, the difficulty is higher than your average eye-candy JRPG, and it's game over if you make the wrong choice during certain periods in time (can happen a lot). Radiant Historia is one of the best games out there that is well put together and nostalgic of better times.

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

They're remaking Tales of the Abyss for the 3DS. It should be coming along in the spring. The best part about this is that Europe never got Abyss when it launched on PS2, so now's your chance to get your hands on another phenomenal Tales game that you probably didn't get the opportunity to play before.

(Also, according to this, it may still hit Europe THIS year.)

Advance Wars doesn't have a good or bad story, infact I wasn't sure if it had a story at all lol. Have you tried the Golden Sun games, they are a good game series?

    Re: Ok so 3DS...

Okay, well besides those Children of Mana is fun, though not particularly amazing. Takes about 2-3 days to finish and there's a little grinding, but it's not too difficult and the gem system is cool. Some fun battles as well.

I haven't played through them entirely just yet, but the Pokemon Black/White games are actually a whole lot better than the usual. No great storyline, of course, yet the battles move faster and there seems to be better flow.

There are some other games on the tip of my tongue, but I can't remember them. Bah, I say!

I don't get why people don't trust ebay. You realize you check the person out before purchasing something. You only go through people with nothing but good reviews.
