I like the logo and I like the way that the battles seem to play, but I'm not a fan of the character designs. I'm not a fan of over the top extreme's in character design, but I'm sure if the gameplay is as fantastic as it seems to be thus far, I can over look that.

Combat and visuals are about where most of Compile Hearts RPGs are at this point. It is using a modified version of the combat system from Neptunia V. The character designs are from the same artist that did the designs for the Neptunia series. Which makes sense since it is the Neptunia Team that is making this game along with a couple of big names in the industry, like Amano.

Neptunia as in Hyper Dimension Neptunia (I think that's the full title)? I've never played a single game and have no clue what they look like xD I've just heard a lot about how awesome and fanservicy they are. xD

Yes, Hyperdimension Neptunia is the series. They are being on the fan service side of things, but they are very entertaining games for those that are long time gamers and RPG fans. The first game did crossovers with Sega, Gust and NIS. And Inafune ends up in the other games. It is a RPG about the games industry, so the more you know about the industry and history the more you can get out of it. They aren't the best RPGs, but they are fun ones.

So they're kind of like the Cross games (Edge and X respectively)? That's pretty cool, but since I don't really follow the industry I feel like those games would be wasted on me.

Cross Edge was the only game, it didn't have sequel or related game. You might be thinking of a port that they made for the 360 of the game. But it is less like Cross Edge. Neptunia isn't really a crossover series like Cross Edge or Project X Zone, those are crossover games. I think only some of the summon things in battle were actual pre-existing characters, which is how Sega was put into the game. No, all of the characters in the series are anthropomorphic representations of either game companies or game consoles. So there is a character called Gust that is a representative of the game company Gust. Neptune is the representative of Sega's never released Neptune game console. While Noire is the Playstation, specifically the Playstation 3 at the time of the first time.

Cross Edge was the PS3 title, but there was also a PS2 title that was the spiritual prequel to the Cross Edge. I think it was called Chaos Wars? I know I might be messing up the title, but it was another game that was a crossover game for Atlus and other.

If that's the case, as far as characters go, I think I could keep up with the references then.

    Also, Sega Neptune? (googles)

Chaos Wars I think had some crossover. I haven't played it yet. So I don't know how it plays, but I don't think the two were related even on a spiritual successor sort. The terrible localization it got didn't help the game though.

The voice actors did a horrible job. I've never heard such horrible dubbing. xD
