I would like to get back playing playstation 1 games and want to hear recommendations on what games you consider are worth playing.

I want to play crash bandicoot again and might give Metal gear solid a go along with tomb raider. You get were I'm going? the big ps1 games... give me a list of your top 5 or 10 .. thanks.

On a side note, does anybody have this game?

My choices are necessarily a top five, more like five number 1's.

Platform/Action: Spyro the Dragon
Fighting: Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Racing: Gran Turismo 2 (especially if you already have a GT1 file)
RPG: Final Fantasy IX
Puzzle: Frogger

Parasite Eve & Parasite Eve II - survivor horror with RPG elements, a rather well done and unique combination. Both games are well known for their intense atmosphere, excellent story and characters both based on Hideaki Sena's award winning novel.

Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf - best cartoon experience wrapped as a game, it's filled with lots of humor, familiar characters, all enhanced by brilliant gameplay, surprisingly great combination of puzzle, stealth, and platform genre.

Gran Turismo 2 - easily one of the best racing games to date. It's simply bursting with content, hundreds of cars, huge list of tracks, customization to the tiniest detail, impressive car behavior...it puts most modern racing games to shame.

Silent Hill - Survivor horror at it's best, outstanding atmosphere, great cast, superb music, interesting twists and puzzles make this game one of the best PS1 titles.

SpiderMan - or as I like to call it Spiderman the Sinister Six. Hands down, best game based on comics along with Arkham Asylum, it features fun gameplay, huge list of unlockables, great story, amazing voice acting, and cast from all corners of Marvel universe.

I'll throw one out there that hasn't been mentioned already...Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Also, I insist on Resident Evil 1 & 2 (although if you have a Wii or GameCube, get that version for RE1 if you can instead). RE3 was alright, but probably my least favorite in the main series. You might've already played Resident Evil, but you didn't say so, so maybe not.

-Legend Of Dragoon : Hands down my favorite PS1 game. Excellent story, battle system, overall absolutely amazing. In fact I am doing a playthrough on this game right now.

-Digimon Digital Card Battle: God this is such a fun ass game. It gets kinda difficult later on, and you will want to smash some shit, and rage hard, but its a good play.

-Chrono Cross: Ahhh such an excellent RPG. Definitely get this one.

-Final Fantasy Tactics: This is by far my favorite FF game. It has a great story, excellent characters and a sweet ass battle system that I still love to this day.

-Digimon World: I love all of these except for I believe the second one, whichever is the one where you have to drive a f*cking tank or whatever the f*ck it is.
