Oblivion was cool until I ran out of weed. I never played Morrowind, though. But Oblivion had to be better because it came out after Morrowind and you can only progress forward in video game graphics, amirite?
Morrowind
Oblivion
They both sucked!!!!
Which was your favorite of the Elder Scroll series, and why.
For me it was Morrowind. I enjoyed it more because there was so much more gameplay than Oblivion. There was ten times as much lands to explore. For me it was worlds better.

I used to like Oblivion alot, until I found out about the real way of leveling. After I figured that out, I said screw this game forever.

I liked Oblivion a lot, The Shimmering Isles was a blast to play as well. Nothing like taking out tons of dungeons with an Assassin's outfit and a bow and arrows haha. The leveling up in the game is definitely easily cheated though. For instance leveling up your Sneak skill is as simply as finding where a beggar sleeps in any city, preferably by a wall, let them go to sleep and sneak towards the wall by taping your analog stick in the up direction and you get close to 10-15 levels per night. You're a Master in no time at all. But I did enjoy the game overall.
Wanna Know More:
About the only thing Oblivion does better is the graphics, and I suppose the interactions between NPC's, the spoken dialogue by NPC's, and other little things, like the lockpicking. They took out a lot of things that made Morrowind awesome, however, like half the spells, weapon types, and skill sets. Also, I just think Morrowind had the more interesting world, with varying and alien-looking landscapes (although the Shivering Isles was pretty cool looking.) As someone else said, there was also more to explore in Morrowind. Anyhoo...

I felt that Morrowind was pretty boring. Spells were a lot of fun though, and I guess there were more. It would have been cool to fly in Oblivion.
But my vote goes to Oblivion. I spent much more time on Oblivion than Morrowind for a reason. The levelling up system didn't bother me one bit because I constantly practised what I wanted my character to learn.
Also, Oblivion was on PS3, which made it easier for me to play - I dislike playing games on my laptop, and I never had access to an Xbox to play Morrowind. ^^;
Overall I liked Oblivion better, but Morrowind had alot going for it that Oblivion couldn't match. I still can't understand why they removed so much.
For Our Lord Sheogorath, without Whom all Thought would be linear and all Feeling would be fleeting. Blessed are the Madmen, for they hold the keys to secret knowledge. Blessed are the Phobic, always wary of that which would do them harm. Blessed are the Obsessed, for their courses are clear. Blessed are the Addicts, may they quench the thirst that never ebbs. Blessed are the Murderous, for they have found beauty in the grotesque. Blessed are the Firelovers, for their hearts are always warm. Blessed are the Artists, for in their hands the impossible is made real. Blessed are the Musicians, for in their ears they hear the music of the soul. Blessed are the Sleepless, as they bask in wakeful dreaming. Blessed are the Paranoid, ever-watchful for our enemies. Blessed are the Visionaries, for their eyes see what might be. Blessed are the Painlovers, for in their suffering, we grow stronger. Blessed is the Madgod, who tricks us when we are foolish, punishes us when we are wrong, tortures us when we are unmindful, and loves us in our imperfection.
I'm another Morrowind preferrer due to the higher level of content.
I did enjoy both games significantly though, just as I did their predecessors. Now Morrowind with Oblivion-esque graphics on the other hand would be truly epic. I very much doubt it'd happen as it wouldn't be practical to make, but it'd be awesome for the fans.

That's not true. Oblivion had a larger world.
That being said, I found Oblivion's world bland and repetitive by comparison. With the exception of snow in the very north and swamps in the very southeast, every location looked the same. In Morrowind, I could always tell what part of the Island I was on simply by looking at the topography and the flora/fauna.
Morrowind also had way more features. More weapon types, more armour types, more skills, more spells, more of a customizable class creator, the ability to wear different pieces of armour to your liking, the ability to rest in more places, the ability to sell stolen goods to someone who would have no way of knowing that said goods were stolen, more factions to join and more small villages to explore.
Oblivion had better graphics, slightly better AI and Patrick Stewart. That's about it.
Until now!
At one point it got boring exploring in Oblivion, as Jin stated it just kept being repetitive. You go explore and find some small hut only to found out it has nothing of value of you, just like half of the other random huts around the land. And yes, Josh, look at the world map of the Elder Scrolls, Morrowind is smaller.
