Monolith Soft's New Game Finally Shown

This is the news I've been waiting for before I even considered buying a Wii U, and it sold one to me in an instant. Never have I been this excited for a game. Xenoblade was amazing, and this already looks like it won't disappoint.

Also, is that online multiplayer?! How will they use this I wonder.

Yes. It is amazing. I was quite surprised at how well the game looked, a testament to the Wii U's power. Gameplay looks similar to Xenoblade, hopefully with some evolution. I love Xenoblade's combat. It was like the next evolutionary step from FF XII (different company though).

What really got me excited - f*ckin gears! That is going to be sick. Yes please. I was wanting a game to feature gears - Xenogears being my favorite rpg - & Tetsuya Takahashi is delivering. Though it lists him as executive producer. Let him also be the director.

What sealed the the trailer was seeing that big red X appear on screen. Praise be to Deus.

Yeah, I was looking forward to him directing this game. I wonder who will be.

I loved that red X as well. Really took me back.

And Gears! (called Dolls?) Was awesome seeing huge monsters that would probably require them.

That was the best RPG trailer I've seen in quite awhile. The visuals are amazing, the gameplay looked really good, and mechanic flying and battling looked really good. If the final product is as good as the trailer, its going to really impact gaming on the Wii U.

I love Monolith Studios. Fear 1 and Condemned: Criminal Origins were some of the best games I've played.

So I've been playing Soma Bringer, another Monolith Soft game, and I'm getting the feeling that this game will use a very similar multiplayer, except online, of course.

Soma Bringer has a kind Diablo-like multiplayer. You can go anywhere you want and do your own thing, but it's of course to your advantage to fight together, especially because that's the only way to share exp. To progress the story, all players must be present.

If they're using that on this new game, it's something I've been hoping for for a very long time. I really hope that's what's going on here.

Soma Bringer was pretty decent actually, however it played a bit slow for me (might of been the emulator though). I did like how they approached the game where you had a HUGE choice of job classes to pick from like in the SaGa games.
