An MMORPG (check even if you hate)

Let me start by saying I have played around 20 MMO's including popular and underground ones... alot. And I am very familiar with how they work/what makes them good/what makes them bad.

This is going to be an interesting MMORPG that can do what many have claimed to do but have lied and just used it as a twisted selling point because its what a lot of MMO gamers want.

Back when I was a little kid, before MMO's were released on the shelves of our stores, before everquest and even that overrated complete failure Runescape was released I played this game (which has been ruined)

Getting Started

Although this game was ruined because the game developer and his 6 person team signed a bad contract with a company, this used to be the best MMO I played of its time.

Now the game developer has started making a new and very interesting MMORPG for around a year now. Since hes the only programmer involved and the game is being made as a hobby as it is for the people working with him, it will be a long time until it is released.



He has interesting concepts I know he can deliver on, because he is extremely careful and patiant on his game mechanics and social systems.

Note: KoS maens Kill on Sight.
Note: Even if player(s) are banned they can still kill the guards/player(s) within them along with anyone else who wants to join in.

He is making a MMORPG that will have >>> FULLY <<< PLAYER CONTROLLED:
Government and maybe an evil government (including KoS lists and being able to ban players from their towns)
Guilds (who can ban people from their own towns)
Towns
Shops
And much more.

A big reason why this will work is they have a very good community already who came with Lothgar from his last game (though their not afraid to be evil charecters )



As I said hes very careful when making games and hes had ALOT of experiance. Many of MMO's have taken help from this one guy to get their games back on track, install new features and even use his programming languages he developped himself.

Note: PvE = Player vs Enemy > Charecter(s) vs computer(s)
Note: PvP = Player vs Player > Player(s) vs Player(s)

Even though the graphics are going to be fail, and he won't have superior raid PvE play (like WOW mainly... and don't argue this point because iv'e played most MMO's out there through max level gameplay) or great PvP play (like alot of games but this is very subjective), but it will be a great social game and every player will hold their influence in it.

I haven't played as many MMORPG's as you, but i do have some decent experience with them and from what you've said in your post, this guy and his team sound like they are working on a kind of 'gaming revolution' in a way.

If they can pull this over, i'm sure he will end up becoming a very, very rich man and have an absolutely stellar gamer consumer base. Thanks for informing the forums about this exciting new MMORPG

His games have always been 100% free up to this point.

I'm surprised this didn't get more responses, it really doesn't look like that bad of a game. I'm actually going to keep track of it, and see where it goes. Reminds me of the good old FF days, but with an expanded universe, and more to it.

One question though, it says you can download the game already. Can you just play a portion of it, or is it just the installer you can download for now?
(Dumb question probable, but I wanted to ask before I tried it out.)

I've Played MMO's Before, Especially MMORPG's. They Are Pretty Cool, Although Some Are Definitly Better Than Others. My Favorite So Far Is World of Warcraft...Yes, I Play That Shit, And It Is Awesome. I'm Like Extremly Popular In That Game, So It Is always Nice To Hear From People, Complementing Me On My Skittlez And Whatnot, And Also The Fact That I Actually Like Helping People Out. I However Have Not Played The Game For 8 Months, Which Really Saddens Me :'( Oh Well. Anyway, I Cannot Check Out The Link You Posted Yet, Since I Am At School, And It Is Blocked. I'll Check It Out Later.

Yes I played that shit too ^.^ Best MMO ever made for PVE by far. And this MMO won't be badass like WOW in that sense, its more of a community things. Like TFF in game... with more killing... and more evil player run governments plotting to take over a town and kill your shop keepers and loot your governments gold... or somethin. Its been ages since I studied it in detail but the system will work when its done
