    Marvel vs. Capcom 2 XBL

So Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is delayed yet again for the 360,and I am very upset. The first date was June 29 I think, then it was July 1,and now Its supposedly July 22.The final date change was because the PS3 was going to have it up on there market on the 22.Well Im very excited about getting to play it again and actually own it.Well any thoughts on this madness.

Yeah it'll be great to own a real version of the game. I had gotten the PS2 version long ago, and MAN did it suck. I was thinking of saving up and buying the DC version. Good thing I didn't.

I'm glad they're adding Custom Soundtrack support too, but would've have REALLY liked the ability to actually customize the music per stage. Oh well..

I'm mainly supporting the release because I'm hoping it might lead to MvC3 which would be awesome with TvC graphics and style.

I don't really see the problem with the PS2 version. I own it and I don't see a problem with it. =\

And I've played the DC version also, and they play pretty much the same... is it that "Hyper" option that the PS2 version doesn't have?

Cause it's fast enough with the 'Fast' Speed or whatever max speed it has.

And I have both a 360 and a PS3, so I'm not really bothered by the "delay".
I for one don't mind delays, because that means they're working on it to make it the best it can be (in some cases), and it really irks me when people complain about delays.

  4. #4
Well from what ive heard the delay was for pointless reasons so thats why this one made me mad.I bought Microsoft points and Im not a patient man to be honest.I as well loved the PS2 version of the game and I played it alot,in fact I would go as far as to say that I enjoyed the soundtrack on it.Anyway so its not so much as hating delays as it is hating a pointless delay.

"From what you've heard"... Where/who did you hear it from, and why would it be pointless?

And you kinda need to have a little bit of patience at least.

  6. #6
Look forum fighting is pointless but heres what I heard and where.I heard from Gamespot and some other people that I know which all together is like 28 people and thats a no. I can trust. They all said that it was for Microsoft to release it on the same day as the PS3 which is kinda pointless to me.And please this is a forum dont feel like you can tell me whether or not Im patient enough or not.But I will say this I am patient in areas of importance but when it comes to video games you can be as ridiculous as desired. Now can the topic please be turned back to the debate of the game and delay instead of my patience level.

I was just wondering, really. Wasn't starting a fight.
Anyway, the place I go to, Fighters Generation; got from Capcom's official twitter that yes it will be coming out -maybe- at the end of July, but no promises, and it was delayed for BOTH PSN and XBL.

Theres no way MvC3 could be better than MvC2. Not possible.

MvC2 is one of the fastest paced fighting games out there, and I respect the fun factor and how the game caters anyone and everyone interested in fighting games.

I know this sounds pretty gay and all, but the way I played fighting games and my competitive mentality grew around playing MvC2. At first, yeah it sounds fun to pick Ryu/Ken/Akuma and have all three of them shinku hadouken kids at the same time for a victory, and it is fun, but its not effective. There is a huge metagame that underlies MvC2, which includes its switching of characters in a variety of ways, its super cancelling system, snapbacks, resets, aerial raves, etc.

And yes, I was completely distraught when I found out that MvC2 wasnt out on the dashboard when I signed in a few days ago. I wanted to dominate my way to becoming the #1 player in the nation, lolz. Nah but seriously, I'm really good and will push anyone's shit in when this game gets released on the three-sixtay, so hit me up with an F/R if you're interested.

Mistress Sheena is a far superior person to you, because she is patient, and you aren't I mean, come on. How dare you show annoyance when a game you've been waiting to play doesn't come out on the day it was originally supposed to! Way to be, dude. Way to be.

My friends are really looking forward to Marvel coming out for the PS3/360. They've been playing it a lot on the dreamcast; one of them even started playing a month or two ago, has practiced every day, and now might possibly be the best at it in the group. I've tried, but I really can't get myself to practice with it very much. I even borrowed my roommates' dreamcast, another friend's burned copy, and another friend's memory card... guess I got too much other stuff going on right now.

But yeah; I really like Iron Man and Gambit. I hear those are two good starting characters. I don't know who I want my third main to be, though. Maybe Rogue. Maybe Jugs (Juggernaut punch! I'm the Juggernaut!) I want it to be a character I like, though; not just some random dude/chick. Anyhoo...

Robert Downey Jr. aka Iron Man is pretty high tier due to his power/range/projectile, but Gambit.. not so much. However if you're still looking for a third character, Cable is one of the easiest God-tier characters to use. When you use him, you have to have characters that do well building up the super meter without using much on it if you want to be really effective with him. With Cable, you get about 1-2 bars built up, then use some combos, throw an HP gun blast if you need to, and when you get three super bars, its party time because you can jump up in the air and hit your opponent with an Aerial Hyper Viper Beam. and AHVB is important because after you use it, you immediately fall towards the ground so you can buffer it to another AHVB, and so on until you do it three times. an AHVBx3 is easy as hell to do and can pretty much kill anything at full health. Know it. Practice it. Use it.

    You have been blessed.

....Learn to read sarcasm, please. He was being sarcastic. (No, this isn't sarcasm.)

But ANYWAY. I can't wait till MVC2 comes out, and I agree with Rocky that MVC3 won't be the same. It'll be close, but not really the same. (No I'm not being a yes man. =P)

I too am very disappointed about the delay. I was hyped up after playing the demo and ready to buy it then, BAM delay. Quite annoying.

Well after awhile the whole delay thing didn't bother me,but now Capcom has found another way to p*** me off.In a fighting game I love the unlocking of characters especially in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 but no the 360 version gives you every freakin character.I dont know if any of you share the hatred of spendind 1200 microsoft points and then it being not so much much what you wanted like I do but if so then please share.

Uh, it's the same for the PSN version, hiro. And who the hell wants to unlock all of that crap? It takes too much time. I'd rather have everything unlocked already and ready to play online, IMO.

    Besides, those of us who still have the PS2 version or the DC version already unlocked everything once already. We don't want to do it again. -_-;

  19. #19
Well I'm just saying that id rather have to unlock the characters because I feel like I get what I paid for.I don't have the pleasure of owning the other versions of the game.I have played the PS2 version and I unlocked a lot of characters but not all of them.I also enjoyed the shop system of unlocking the characters.I love to play fighting games in their complete form but I would rather have the pleasure of testing the characters as I unlock them that's all I'm saying. However I do understand why people who have already unlocked all the characters in previous versions might hate having to do it all over again.

I see what youre saying hiro, but the majority of the people didnt just pay 1200 microsoft points on a game that promised 54 characters when they have to unlock the other 32. Besides, most of the people arent concerned with playing through the single player mode to get enough exp points to buy all the characters/costumes/levels/etc, most people want to play the game against their friends or against other people online and want to see who is the best marvel vs capcom 2 player ever. With the online capabilities that are available in this day and age, that is how gaming is turning out to be; a faster, more readily available to find and play games at a quicker pace. Whether this is a good thing or not is left up to interpretation.
