    Marvel VS. Capcom 2

Has anyone here downloaded the newest version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2? And if you have, what do you think of it?

As for me, I used to play the arcade version when I was younger, and I was really happy to see it appear on Xbox Arcade. I even got to download it for 33% off! (10$)

The game is still very fun. But so far, I'm having some trouble with the controls. For one thing, it's a little tough to operate the game on the Xbox 360's D-Pad (mainly because it's kinda hard to dash). I also found that performing all three of your character's super-special-awesome attacks at once is difficult to execute by pressing both of the bumpers at the same time. I found myself accidentally using my character's assists about two or three times before I was able to actually use it. I'm going to try adjusting the control settings to see if that makes a difference.

the D-Pad sucks for it. I'd rather use a Dualshock 3, or even better yet an arcade stick, but I'm too poor for either lol.

Yeah I downloaded it when it first came out. Got boring quick, even with online play. It seemed like whoever had host had a major advantage in the game, especially if it was a laggy host, it wouldn't let the off-host person block in time, etc, which can cause major gameplay problems, obviously.

I noticed that no one is really good at it either. It's just the same people playing team scrub over and over again being tryhards to boost their wins lol. If they actually play against people who know what theyre doing, its easy gameovers. Oh well, it was fun when it was first out, sigh.

It's one of those games you have on in the background during a party or if you want to just blow some time while you BS with a friend. Just set your own music to play over the incessant "I wanna take you fo' a riiiiiiide" and you're good to go.

    Good port overall.

    Genesis style gamepad.
Seriously the best controller for half the games on XBLA.

Newest? Lol the version you download is the original Arcade/Dreamcast version just revamped and make to look better.

I play this with some friends, they make me look like I'm bad but they keep telling me I'm really good.
Why would you use a D Pad, the joystick is superior in every way. I can't come to my senses that you find holding down both bumpers at the same time that hard of a challenge. Do you use the D Pad with your fingers?

I've heard that before but the genesis style gamepads I've used are just more responsive and are cheaper. I said it was better for half the games on xbl, and very few of them are fighters like Marvel VS. Capcom 2.

hey hey hey now, I actually like the music for MvC2, so you can go to hell. It's nostalgic jazz/blues music that reminds me of my childhood from playing this game, and it's sure as hell better then all the crazy hair metal that the Virtua Fighter series is known for.

The music is one of the best I've heard in any game. It's not some raging metal in the background or some hip hop, doesn't suit it.

I always put "those who fight further" from the Advent Children soundtrack and The Black Mages first two albums as my playlist for that game. It's so good!

I've always preferred a Arcade Joystick.

One of my favorite fighters. I also love the music

I already knew this is the same game. I guess I shouldn't have called it a "version"; I just called it that because it recently came out on Xbox Live and Playstation Network.

I use the analog stick. I just wanted to try out the D-Pad so I could see what the game would be like when I used it.

Do you have to hold the bumpers down for a short amount of time, or can you just tap both of them? I just tapped them instead of holding them down usually. Is that the problem, or is my controller being weird?

What?!? 12 posts and no mention of TvC? Really? IT'S TAHTSU BEYBEE!

You guys don't know what you're missing. I find the music to be vastly superior to MvC2's as well. It's all about Orbital Ring, Yatterman's Workshop, and Galactor Base. Hell Yeah!

And yeah the roster's smaller, but the overall balance of the game far exceeds MvC2 with practically everyone being viable. I'd love to see MvC3 on the same engine, but man Tatsu characters ROCK!

well for one its quite obviously why there arent any post about tvc, thats because its a thread of MVC2.

and on that note, i do think tvc was good, but its gonna tale a truly great game to top mvc2, which is still to this day my favorate fighter.

maybe if capcom could get the marvel liscense back from the greasy smelly hands of activision, they could make a 3 mvc, however i would only want more characters added to the roster, not a new game overall.

Yeah, Capcom's basically said a MvC3 with MORE characters would likely never happen (as they've established the concept of 2.5D for all their fighters now) They just don't have their crack team of Sprite Artists anymore.

If they did somehow make MvC3 I'd actually like to see them somehow base it of the Super Hero Squad show. Seriously TvC's basic engine with Pocket Fighter inspired mechanics (The pocket fighter proportions would fit in quite well with TSHS)

There's also that Marvel vs Tatsunoko Anime due in 2012, it'd be awesome if Capcom could take advantage of that somehow.
