Lost in Shadow

Don't know how I missed all the info on this one.

Anyway, I was just perusing through the Kotaku website, and I see an article for an upcoming Wii game called Lost in Shadow. It's a puzzle-platformer game, and you're basically playing the game as the young boy's shadow! I thought that was a pretty neat concept, though I'm not sure if the gameplay would be a bit disorienting at first from having to focus on the background rather than the foreground. I guess I'll have to play it and see.

Trailer for those that are interested in watching. Also, no specific release date mentioned, only that it's going to be later this year.

The artstyle reminded me a bit of Ico, which was really nice. The music kind of annoyed me though. :/

So, does anyone think that they'll give this game a shot when it gets released? It looks to me to be a promising little Wii title.

After seeing the trailer for it, definitely.
Platformers with puzzles have had me entertained for ages, and this couples that with a beautiful look. I think the biggest sell for me is that it isn't 2D and like the trailer said, light can manipulate the puzzles meaning it might take a while to work out some parts of the game. This and several other games shown at e3 greatly make me glad I have a Wii right now.

Yeah, I have a lot of Wii titles that I'm looking forward to playing too.

Anyway, here's a bit of information update for the game: There's now a release date for it (January 4, 2011), and a new trailer showing some more of the game. Apparently, you won't be playing as the boy's shadow for the whole game (which I thought was the case), but you can materialize in certain areas to help solve some of the puzzles! Pretty cool.
