It would be great deal of help if we knew which genres you prefer, which games to avoid, which platforms are at your disposal... perhaps you're looking for something similar to certain game/s you love?

My recommendations right now...

Dragon Age Origins (PC, XBox 360, PS3) - although engaging the story could have used more depth, however, characters, gameplay, music, decisions and their impact on you and the world of Dragon Age Origins are nothing short of brilliant. Quite a challenging game if I may say so.

Mass Effect (PC, XBox 360) - the fictional world this game gave us and the story behind it is simply, for lack of better word, amazing. By far the best one in the series and one of the most exciting games I ever played, although you should go through other games as well.

I recommend 'Bully' on the PS2.

If your into first person shooters, I hear a lot of good things about Battlefield 3.

Homefront for PS3 was pretty fun, but theres a lack of variety in the maps.

There's also Killing Floor on steam, but its co-op against monsters rather than team deathmatch stuff.


I gotta agree that the COD series began to feel more like an endless display of your teamates gullability than a fast paced shooter.

Dead Space 2. You will definitley enjoy that.

If you haven't branched into FF yet, you could try Dirge Of Cerberus, that's a third person shooter (note: I'm not recommending it, I haven't played the game).
