Since the game is going to be on the Wii I may actually end up playing at some point. Let's hope he can stay away from Microsoft from now often so I can see if his games are worth the purchase of a new console. So far only a new Zelda Wii game will actually make me break down and buy a Wii. So he's got a steep hill to get over to convince me.
Those things aside though, pretty much everyone at this point is saying that he is just going back to Final Fantasy at this point. The title is too close to be just a coincidence, especially since he made Final Fantasy to begin with. I'll wonder how much he'll take from his previous games to put into this. Wonder if it'll be a new Xenogears-Xenosaga deal.
As for JRPGs there are six coming out on the PS3 in the US in the next 3-4 months, four of which are in February and March. Which will sadly end up doubling the number currently. So I think we're starting to look at better off now than we were before. We'll start getting more JRPGs though at this point since the smaller companies are starting to make their move over to the PS3 and releasing titles. Development costs are just pretty high, so I don't think we'll see nearly as many this time around as we did on the PS1 or PS2. But we'll see, PS3's got long legs.
