Killer Instinct was in fact much like Mortal Kombat which isn't as superior to Street Fighter. The battle system makes it easier but games still badass.
That's all I have to discuss since it's been 12 years since I played it.
Yeah, Thats Right, I'm Talkin' About The One And Only Killer Instinct Video Game For The Super Nintendo Which Was Made In '94-'95. This Game Is The Pinaccle Of First Gen Fighting Genre Bad-Assness On A Level That Is Uncomphrendable.
This Game Is On The Same Bad-Assness Level As M.K.(Mortal Kombat) Since They Both Use A Similar Battle System In Which Both Games Have Finishing Moves Used Which Once You Put In The Command, There Is A Small Showing Of Brutality Usually Resulting In Death, Which Makes The Game Even More Enjoyable. The Game Is Also Very Concentrated On Fulfilling Combos To Get More Points, Since This Game Is Arcade Based. The More Points You Get By Doing A Bunch Of Combos Within The Fight, The Better The Chances Of You Beating Records Of Other People's Scores.
The Way This Game Is Played Is Each Fighter Has Two Energy Bars, One Yellowish-Green Bar, And An Orangy-Red Bar. Once A Person Has Depleted The First Bar Of Their Opponent, The Fight Stops For A Second, And The Character Who Won Backs Up A Few Steps To Let The Opponent Have Some Space. The Person Who Won Keeps Whatever Health He Had During The First Round Which Does Not Heal, This Way It Is Fair For Both Sides.
Whoever Can Deplete Both Life/Energy Bars Of Their Opponent Is Declared The Winner. At The End, Depending On How Well You Did, There Is An Extra Screen With Your Character's Picture On It, And Will Say Any Of These:
~Awesome Victory: Perfect(Means You Won The Fight With Full Health And Was Able To Pull Off A Danger Move Or Ultra Combo At The End Of The Fight)
~Awesome Victory(Means You Won The Fight With A Danger Move Or Ultra Combo, But Lost Some Health)
~Supreme Victory: Perfect(Means You Won Without Getting Hit Once)
~Supreme Victory(Means You Got Hit, But Won Without Losing Your First Life Bar)
~No Picture(Means You Lost Your First Bar Of Health, But Still Won The Fight)
Names Of Combos You Can Pull Off And Number Of Hits Needed In Succession In Order To Achieve It:
~Triple = 3 Hits
~Super = 4 Hits
~Hyper = 5 Hits
~Brutal = 6 Hits
~Master = 7 Hits
~Awesome = 8 Hits
~Blaster = 9 Hits
~Monster = 10 Hits
~King = 11 Hits
~Killer = 12-17 Hits
~Ultra = 18+ Hits
~Ultimate = Depends On Which Character Is Using It.
The Goal Is To Win The Tournament, Then Raise The Difficulty Of The Game To Make It More Challenging.
The Last Person You Fight Depends On The Difficulty:
~Fulgore: 1 Star (*) (Easy)
~Eydol: 2+ Stars (**, ***, ****, *****, ******) (Normal-Extremely Hard/ Almost Impossible)
*Note: You Still Fight Fulgore Even With Higher Levels Of Difficulty, You Just Fight Eydol After You Beat Fulgore.
Please Discuss This Game However You Like, Tell Me If You've Played It Before, Or If You Like Or Dislike It. I Would Love To Hear Your Opinion On This Game. I Personally Loved This Game, And I Still Play It To This Day. It Was The One Game I Started Learning English From. Yeah, Thats Right, This Video Game Started Teaching Me English...Can You Believe That? That's Why This Game Is Important To Me, And Also Another Reason Why I Love It, And Cherish It.
Here Is A Video I Made Of Me Playing The Game Using A Character That I Know How To Use Well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ho6yvnV_F5I

Killer Instint was incredably fun
And yes MK/KI/Tekken etc are insuperior to SF games. Since SF3 Third Strike, SF games have completely decimated MK games lol. The only other game which could be competative today is maybe Blaze Blue.
But KI was still incredably fun in its day. I can't remember it clearly enough to talk about it much though
Then You Guys Should Probly Get To It And Start Playing Again...Hehe If You Cannot Find It At Any Of The Stores, Or Don't Have A Super Nintendo Anymore? Then Just Get The Rom For It, And The Super Nintendo Emulator. Thats What I Did, Since I Don't Have A Super Nintendo Anymore. I Still Got The Game Though Somewhere In My House.
Anyway, I Agree That Street Fighter Is A Pretty Good Game Series As Well, But I Haven't Played It Enough To Really Go Nuts Over It. Like I Said Earlier, Killer Instinct Has Been With Me Since Childhood And Is What Started Teaching Me English While Playing. I Actually Joted Down The Words On Paper. So Thats Why It Is Still One Of My Favorite Fighting Games To This Very Day.
