How do you feel when you complete a game?

I just beat a game a couple weeks ago, and I realize that I actually feel kind of bummed out afterwords no matter what it is. If it's a game I really like then I feel even worse because I get this feeling of not wanting it to end.

Also, when I do beat them there isn't even anything else for me to go back and do. I have problems and need a 12 step since I try to get everything the first time through if possible , so by the end of the game sometimes the last boss isn't even the hardest part lol.

So yeah overall I feel accomplished but the feeling of wanting the game to go on is kind of stronger.

I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

Usually, it's one down sixty to go for me. ^^; After I beat one game I've got another I need to beat and will for a while so long as I don't play them as religiously as I used to do.

But it comes down to thinking about if for a little bit and maybe checking out the new game plus if it is there. It's another story I've completed and that makes me happy. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to replay them, but I thoroughly enjoy them before I complete them at the very least.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

i feel very satisfied when i complete a game, depends on what kind of ending i'm treated with though.

There are games that i just don't go back to for some reason and there are games that I refuse to complete as well because i they're on my dislike list.

but most of the time, i feel good about completing a game.

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

If I really enjoyed the game, I might be disappointed that it's over. However, with a lot of games, I often feel relieved that it is done, and I don't have to play it anymore. I can go spend my time doing something else. Goodness knows what, but yeah. I also might feel some sense of accomplishment if it was hard to complete. Like any Megaman game, for example (then again, those are really short with tons of replay value, so you probably aren't referring to those...) Anyhoo...

usually I get excited and am relieved that I am done with it for awhile haha, though there are a few games that made me longing for more and/or sad about it ending, like Persona 3 and 4 for example, Chrono Trigger as well.

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

It is disappointing when you complete a game you really enjoyed and you ask yourself 'is it really over?'

I find if I really enjoyed it, I get kind of bummed out, but then realise I have a cupboard full of games that need my attention, and find one of those to devote my time to.

However, if I complete a game that kind of sucked and I only played through the whole thing for trophies or other achievements, I feel relieved and happily move onto the next one. It all about what game it is.

    This.

Even on games I really enjoy, completing them sometimes feels like a chore and I usually feel relieved when I finally finish them. I've usually got a dozen other games to complete, so it's like finishing up different sections of work and checking them off my figurative list...which is actually kind of sad now that I think about it.

    Until now!

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

Depends. If the game sucks then I probably would never have finished it, for one game I thought there was more to it because it only took me an hour to beat (literally), if it was a good game with a good ending then I feel satisfied and a bit sad that the game is over then I just start up a new game and replay it (only if the game was really good) and if the game itself was good but the ending was bad then I just sort of . . . well happy that I beat it but disapointed that the ending sucked and if the last boss was challenging but not too difficult I see how many times I can beat it before getting bored and moving on to the next game.

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

I think the longer and/or better the game is, the more satisfied i will feel at the end. Games like MW2 and Heavenly Sword make me angry because they are like 5 hours long, i barley had to spend any time on them. Short games are kind of a staple in video games today. Games for the ps3/xbox/wii are averaged to about 6 to 8 hours of gameplay. Where as Ps2/xbox/Gamecube games averaged around 10-12 hours. Its only getting worse on us that like longer games...

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

I find it hard to give a blanket response to a question like this. Every game I finish evokes different emotions and thoughts. I guess I can list the last few games I finished, though.

Infamous - Relief, mostly. I'd already played it on good karma, then I decided to do a bad karma run just to see how different it would be. Honestly playing the evil side really goes against my grain so I didn't always feel comfortable completing certain objectives. Yes I know, it's 'just a game' but that doesn't change how I feel about acting in a negative manner.

Costume Quest - What a fun little RPG. The ending made me grin cause it reminded me of childhood. Good old nostalgia. Great seasonal game.

Final Fantasy XIII - Finished this awhile ago but I still remember how bittersweet the ending was. It doesn't help that any time I find myself drawn to a particular character, I can pretty much guess their fate...sigh. But at the same time I remember just thinking "wow" through the whole thing. SE rarely disappoints when it comes to a grand finale, imo.

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

    I hate completing FF games.
FFX made me... sad I guess?
Any game that I have real fun, I hate when they end, even if the ending is good.
If the game has a high difficulty, and fun gameplay, then I feel relieved, and complete lol

If the game has such a lackluster ending, I lose all respect for the game... God of war 3

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

I don't know, usually happy and satisfied but if it's a game I really, really enjoyed playing then I kind of feel sad because it's finished and there's no more to play.

I remember playing FFVIII and enjoying every moment of it, I couldn't wait to get to the ending but then when I finished it... I felt sad that it had ended and wished it could have kept on going!

If a game is really easy and I complete it then it's sort of like meh, if it's a game like FF or TES then I will feel very accomplished and happy.

How I feel about after I finish a game, well I've beaten so many that I'm happy for about 30 secs and then I'm ready for the next game the next five mins.

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

Whenever I beat a new game I always get a big mix of emotions. It first is joy and happiness. However it quickly turns to a feeling of "damn, there's nothing left for me to do." I've never played a game I didn't like long enough to get the "Finally, the damn game's over" feeling though.

I can sometimes get like halfway through a game and see the end coming and get convinced to stop. That's why I like new game+ or anyother kind of "keep playing after the final battle" functions.

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

My feelings usually go from game to game, as one of these three:

    1. Relief (I've been playing this to pass the time for a week and now its over...yay...)

    2. Sadness (sniff...its over...it was so great...please god make a sequel!)

    3. Anger (Really?! _____ dies in the end!? WTF!?!?!?!?)
To contemplate is to look at shadows...

To me it all depends on the replay value and it depends on the game... I do know that disapointed feeling though... If the game doesn't have good replay value and I really like the game or if it doesn't have multiplayer then I am usually bummed out after beating it...

I feel pretty accomplished just because I take in one game at a time. I have a library of about 500 games in my office ranging from atari 2600 to ps3, and my goal is beat the games to beat, achieve high scores on games with high scores, and strive to be the best in sports games. I tend to play multiplayer when I play sports games. but yeah it is like marking one off the list for me

    Contented.

And wanna try something new after it.
But usually I finished a game twice especially on some adventure games which I didn't accomplished all mini-games/sidequests and having getting all ultimate weapons, once I tried it out again, I would know how to clear it thoroughly.

When I finish the game, I feel SO happy, I get goosebumps out of joy. ^_^; I feel a big burst of energy and motivation for no reason, and my head gets light, too. Especially when I spent a great deal of time on a game~!

I also feel motivated to draw fanart, but....I must....be more creative.....

Re: How do you feel when you complete a game?

I feel good depending on how the game was, I feel AWESOME, like Arc Rise Fantasia, such a hard game and when I beat it I was like damn that's awesome, gonna have to go through it again.

But if the game is really awesome, then I sometimes have dreams about me being a new character changing the story around a little bit, and that my friends feels even more awesome
