Let's hear your opinions. Tank controls in general can be awful of course and in general lag of any kind would be kind of unwelcome. Especially if the game in question kinda demands precision from you.

I can't recall any game that had a comfortable tank-driving experience. Steel Battalion was cool but nobody had that $200 controller. Anything else just feels like driving a really slow car or it's too simplistic, point-and-click nightmare.
But just an overall feel for games with awkward controls? There are plenty. Hell, even FFXV felt awkward after they changed the control scheme between the demo and the full release. I think one for me right now would be Nights of Azure 2 on the Switch because it uses B to confirm instead of A and it's fucking with me.

Takes a while to get used to Dark Souls games for me. Especially if I pick a heavier class. That armour makes the controls feel clunky as hell.
I also didn't much like how clunky Mafia III felt. Honestly couldn't get into the game because of the controls.
Oh shit, yeah, on that exact note - Lords of the Fallen is a prime example of controls literally getting in the way of the game. I wanted to like it because I like Souls-esque games but the delay between doing a thing and watching it happen was far too great for the game to be enjoyable. You'd have to literally predict EVERYTHING in order to do anything, before the enemy had even started any animations, if you wanted to block or parry. Poor design for what could have been an enjoyable game.

I feel like most games have a somewhat standard system for button layout. I hate games that deviate from it, or don't allow you to change the layout. This is especially true for shooters.

Bioshock and Bioshock 2, both had bizarre layouts. I ended up relying primarily on melee and plasmids just because aiming was so awkward.
For Our Lord Sheogorath, without Whom all Thought would be linear and all Feeling would be fleeting. Blessed are the Madmen, for they hold the keys to secret knowledge. Blessed are the Phobic, always wary of that which would do them harm. Blessed are the Obsessed, for their courses are clear. Blessed are the Addicts, may they quench the thirst that never ebbs. Blessed are the Murderous, for they have found beauty in the grotesque. Blessed are the Firelovers, for their hearts are always warm. Blessed are the Artists, for in their hands the impossible is made real. Blessed are the Musicians, for in their ears they hear the music of the soul. Blessed are the Sleepless, as they bask in wakeful dreaming. Blessed are the Paranoid, ever-watchful for our enemies. Blessed are the Visionaries, for their eyes see what might be. Blessed are the Painlovers, for in their suffering, we grow stronger. Blessed is the Madgod, who tricks us when we are foolish, punishes us when we are wrong, tortures us when we are unmindful, and loves us in our imperfection.

Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 both had weird controls since this was capcom's first attempt at a 3D mega man but both games were amazing despite the awkwardness of the movement. I had to set my controls to where the analog stick turns mega man and he strifes with the shoulder buttons since those are the control schemes I grew up on.

I'm not sure if it's because the game is so old, or because it's just a mediocre game, but the Shenmue remastered controls infuriate me. Everything feels very clunky and delayed. Very rarely do you have the option of responding to other characters, but when you do, it goes too quickly, where you can't fully read your options.
I appreciate that the game is 19 years old, which is kind of crazy, but I feel like games were tighter before that

Indeed, the orders can be sometimes very awkward, see unmanageable, and I find it a shame because over time we start to get a little tired Of it.
