A few years ago I got rid of my original Golden Sun for the GBA. I have the emu now, but a few years ago I was so down because I wanted to play it, and I couldn't.
I wanna know what kind of games you guys got rid of that you now wish you hadn't. The 3 biggest games I regret ever getting rid of were chrono trigger, shining force 2, and brave fencer musashi. It is crazy what person will do when they start growing up, the need for nostalgia hits a guy hard but they can't really do anything about it unless they fork over the large amount of money to regain their old games again.

Lots, though I'm not sure if I remember them all. For one, I always regretted when I sold my copy of Crystalis. I didn't find it again for years. One time I found it again in another town, but didn't have any money, and my parents wouldn't let me borrow any from my sister to get it. I also regretted selling Dragon Warrior, Legacy of the Wizard, Blaster Master... most of the games for the NES that we sold when we needed money to get the SNES. Seems like there might've been ones for later generations that I regretted, but I don't remember what those would've been. Anyhoo...

I both regret and am glad that I got rid of my Animal Crossing games. I had the versions for the DS and the Wii, and I was HOOKED on playing those games. I knew I had to break out of the hold they had on me, and the best way I knew how was to completely get rid of them. It worked, but I still sometimes wish I could go bug-catching and fishing with my little animal companions...and fix up my little house...and plant little flowers around the town...

Games i regret selling.... my Megaman x Collection for one, kinda miss playing FFXII and thats about all i can think of at the moment... wait there was another, Chrono Trigger for DS. It was a great port too despite what people said about it.
Currently Playing:
Tekken 3!
My parents were moving and I had to make an excruciating decision over my games because I couldn't fit them all safely in my suitcase. I have searched for it in second-hand stores but only found Tekken 1 and 2, which are nowhere near as good.
I can't believe I picked Point Blank 2 over it. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?
I did also get rid of Theme Park World (twice), but managed to get that for £3 down at the second hand electronics store.

I haven't sold anything I regret, but letting friends borrow games to never get them back has burned me several times.
The original Ninja Turtles game for the nes. I have it on an emulator now so it isnt that bad but I went like 8 years without it.
Final Fantasy 7, I have bought 4 copies of this game now haha. I dont intend to let anyone ever borrow it again.
Final Fantasy 8, I got the game back missing disc 2 and 4 isnt playable anymore...
Kingdom Hearts, I might still be able to get this back. I let a good friend borrow it and I forgot. He then moved to London for 3 years and I had no way of getting it back. He has since moved back to the US, so I'll have to call him and see about getting it back.

SPOILER!!:
Well my gamecube broke and I got rid of any games of value, most of which I regret now that I own a Wii which is itself gathering dust in a corner. I really regret getting rid of the likes of MGS: Twin Snakes( best MGS which is MGS 1 with the engine of 2) and FF: Crystal Chronicles. Which are incidentally very expensive now to buy anywhere.

My first Sega Mega Drive and all the games I had on it. I sold it thinking 'now I've got a PS1, that's all I need right?' Oh how wrong I was. I had some really great games on it too, like Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Vectorman, Dynamite Headdy, Power Rangers: The Movie (even if it was a complete Streets of Rage rip-off), Aladdin. The list goes on and on. I have since bought another MD with Sonic 1 & 2, Power Rangers and Aladdin, and I've got the Collection on PS3, but it doesn't change the fact that I deeply regret selling my original ones.
Another game I wish I never got rid of was Spyro The Dragon. Stupid, stupid, STUPID! That was one of my favourite games ever, and then I thought I'd get rid since I had, at the time, recently got my PS2.
Back in the day, when I swapped Castle of Illusion for Sonic 2, I still regret it to this day, other games have been misplaced along the way, but that's my biggest regret because I actually willingly parted with it. Never done it since, I'd rather a game gather dust never played than part with it regardless of how shite a game it might be <_<
not gonna lie, I'm a big packrat so I don't get rid of much but one game I do regret that I traded was the original snes Earthbound game, I traded some friend for Megaman Legends, which I didnt even end up liking the game near as much /sigh. Ah well, you live and learn.

I sold Final Fantasy VII. I had finished it once and thought I don't need it anymore.
I did regret it, but it was not hard to get it back as Ebay has alot of copies listed.
Im quite the video game geek, just one day after starting this post I lucked out and found a complete shining force 2 game on ebay for 20 bucks and jumped on it. can't wait to play it again on it's original port.

Disgaea Hour of Darkness for PS2, I've sold and bought this game over about 7 times now. I'm never letting it go again.
I can't really remember any games I sold, I wish I hadn't...

back in 2000, i bought my sega dreamcast from my art teacher,,, among other things, it came with this came called Power Stone,,, a fighting game where u fight ur opponent like usual but in the world ur battle takes place, there are 3 stones that u find or beat out of the other person and when u have all three.. u transform and your power level rises...... i traded that game for resident evil code veronica... which was also a badass game
I got rid of Halo Reach a few weeks ago. Now if I ever get my xbl turned back on, I can't play with Rocky, and Mark. I hopefully will get it back in the future. If not then f*ck me.
There are quite a few.
I could never think of them all but Final Fantasy III was one of them. I remember buying it used, back when it came out. Then I remember playing it nonstop from about 10 that night til 9 the next morning.
Other than that, I've gotten rid of ALOT more systems than I have games. Well not literally... but, I have gotten rid of quite a few. I've had 4 PS3's now.
Shadowstrike.
Some of my most regrettable losses are Metal gear solid, Clock tower 2, Resident evil 2 and 3, Resident Evil for gamecube, and Silent hills 2 and 3. I highly regret selling the first 4, because they were such good games and are now hard to find around here. RE for gamecube was very good too. I regrettably sold both of Silent hill games, but now I have both of them back, plus the first one (cost me $30 on eBay for the first and second silent hill games )
iv gotten rid of FFVIII twice once i lost it and once i thought i was done playing it but i bought it back both times
Wow, where do I even begin?
When I was much younger, I had the original playstation and tons of games. I mean I pretty much had every single great RPG you could think of: Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VII VIII IX, Xenogears and the list goes on. Along with other great games like Front Mission 3 and Parasite Eve. So one day, the playstation dies. At this point I figured the games were worthless since I didn't have the system. Didn't even think that someday I could buy a new one, that a PS2 might play them as well...etc etc etc....
Traded them all in. For what? I can't even remember. Oh, and I had Suikoden II as well. Sadly, I'm one of those people who usually learns by doing. What I would give for some Suikoden II these days...
Luckily, I've been able to get some of the games back over the years. Chrono Cross disc 2 won't read on my ps2 though...so somethings will never be the same
Situation silaler to Acheron's
When I was younger I had a NES, then traded it and all the games (mario and junk games). Later lost verious RPGs to trade ins over the years. (parasite eve included)
My most regrettable thing was when I traded my psx FFTactics, for a copy of FFTadvance.
i didnt actually get rid of it, one of my cousins stole it Xenosaga 2 and 3. i am still very angry because for i had almost beaten the games and now they are about 500 miles from here. but another game i regrett giving away was devil may cry 1 and 2.
*sniffles* im sorry Dante.
The cake is a lie!!!!!
The game that I gavew away was soul caliber. It was a really good game but we had to return it to pre-order final fantasy 14 which was a total fail if you read the game informers. They said now we have to wait until they can fix the game until we can get it. I wasted a lot of time on a game that wasn't even that good in the first place. I really hope they came out with a new version of it so I can see how that one goes. If it sucks to then i will go back to buying Soul Caliber.
Final Fantasy X, Bloodlust, and I forget the last one, but it was a really big de--OH! Legend of Lagaia.
SPOILER!!:
Back in the day... I had two copies of FFI, one of which was unopened, in original packaging and everything. I came home one day from school and my mom had gave my mint condition NES and all of the games to the Salvation Army. She never would give a straight answer as to why, something about it happening to be in the pile of stuff to go. Yeah, like it just magically unplugged itself from my TV along with the basket of games and hopped into a pile to go out the door. Suuuuure.
I'm not so eager to trade or sell games I'm particularly fond of, though from time to time I know to make a really poor decision. Discworld II: Missing Presumed...!?, one of the best adventure games I ever played, I gave it for "Dragonball Final Bout", I think, not only did I got rid of an excellent game, but I also received a crappy one instead.
Sig and Avy made by Unknown Entity
One of the games I've gotten rid of was a Sonic the Hedgehog one... I think it was the Mega Collection one, for PS2. I got rid of it, because I didn't think I'd be playing it anymore, and way back when, I used to play it all the time, as well as some of my friend's who'd come and play it with me. Now, I kinda regret getting rid of it. Seriously, I had some fun times with that game, and I'd love to get it again.
I had also gotten rid of a Super Monkey Ball Adventure game for PS2(Yeah, PS2 was like... The only game system I have played way back when), I couldn't figure out where to go in the game, and got fed up with it, and got rid of it... And again, I wish I could have it again, and I could probably figure it out again, and actually enjoy the game. I actually miss it, it was a fun game... Rolling around in a ball everywhere.
