    Game Hopping.

I've noticed I've done this a lot lately. I can't settle with just one game for my afternoon/evening. This night alone, I've jumped from playing Grand Theft Auto IV, to Final Fantasy VIII, to Red Dead Redemption, and now to Mirror's Edge. And even now that I've put Mirror's Edge on, I kind of want to play Dragon age 2. ><

Sometimes I can play the same game for days or weeks at a time and not get bored. Just sometimes things fail to grab my interests, despite me thinking it was a good idea to play at first.

Does anyone else get like this, or can you just settle into one game to play?

It's a little like channel hoping; when you keep changing the channel to see what is on. But I can't get settled. ><

I don't hop in a single day like your instance but I tend to hop with my RPGs. Before I finish one I get start wanting play another RPG. This leads me taking a longer time to beat a RPG which kind of frustrates me because I want to get them done and move on.

Sometimes if I am in a rut I may play a few games to get a feel for what I do want to play. Other times if I die in a RPG that puts in me in a sour mood, I'll load up another game because I don't want to deal with it for a little bit.

Hahaha exactly me. I do this a lot, but my number one rule is that I can't leave any game I put aside unfinished meaning at some point I HAVE TO go back and finish it, even if it's a year later.

I have a bad habit of playing too many games at once so 3 is my limit and I try to not have all three games, be games I've never played before. If I do, I tend to loose track of the story and what's happening and then I feel the urge to restart :s I like getting into the story of new games and I can't do that if I'm juggling 3 different stories, especially if they're all complicated ones.

I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

    Game Hopping

I try to stick it out and play one game at a time. However, for me, it is so hard to switch to a new game when I am playing one already. If I switch, I am always thinking, "I bet I can get that mission done if I just do it one more time." Or sometimes, I am getting tired of playing a game, but my brain doesn't want to pick a different game to play. That's when I break out my TI83+ and let it choose a game at random. That way I don't have to think about.

    Re: Game Hopping.

I've found here lately that I do have to do a little game hopping to make some headway in my backlog. I used to not have that problem. In my younger gaming days, I could start up a game, and keep myself at it until I've beaten it and only then would I really start working on another game. Guess since then I've developed some kind of Gaming A.D.D. or something.

This happens to me as well, and most recently with FF IV DS... Made pretty good headway in the Sealed Cave, then I pressed my luck a little too hard and found myself staring at the Game Over screen. This happened about a month ago, and I haven't touched the game since.

    Re: Game Hopping.

SAdly, the games I have really don't have either an interesting story (Castlevania: Lords of shadows), or doesn't really have a storyline and therefor no real ending(Black Ops, Gran Turismo 5).

So that means, i really have little interest in my games so when I play a game, I stay with it for about a week, and then get an urge to drive my X2010, then want to kill virtual players again... >.>

I am always playing more then one game whenever I'm playing games. I'll be playing Dissidia and then play some Team Fortress 2 for an hour. Later in the day like night time, I'll play FFII or an SNES or GBA game.

I for once can't play one game at the time, no matter how good it is playing same game for several hours becomes tedious, I either need to take a break or switch to something else. Right now I'm playing test Drive Unlimited 2, Chrono Trigger, Dissidia Duodecim, and Become a Legend mode in Pro Evolution Soccer 2011.

    Re: Game Hopping.

When I was a kid, I had a habit of playing the same game or series of games (depending how many were on the disk) over and over again. This was when most of my games were arcade games on my old BBC Model B computer.

Lately I have started swapping discs a lot recently. I played FF7, FF8 and Pac Man World 2 in one day just recently.

Hell, I was playing Peggle yesterday, and I have jus jumped to Blue Dragon after 2 years away from it.

Whenever I fall into this routine, I know it's about time to find a new game. If none of the games I have can hold my attention span longer then an hour or so, I'm burnt out.

    I'm currently hopping between:
    -FFV
    -GTA IV
-Castle Crashers (insane mode, I'm really stuck, I probably need other players)
    - and I really want to play Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4 again

I just finished all the good Kingdom Hearts (the ones on PS2) I was juggling before. Like other people have said, It's not so much hourly for me that I hop games but rather daily or at least daytime/nighttime (PS1 is in my room and my PS3 is in my game room/basement)

I also have this problem too, right now I'm hoping between Dynasty Warriors 7, Odin Sphere, and Phantom Brave: We Meet Again. I'm actually about to switch DW7 to Castlevania (Xbox 360).

It's a problem we all have but eh what can you really do about it...

    Re: Game Hopping.

I do this all the time, especially with games that I really love, and don't want to necessarily finish them. I only recently beat Fallout 3, before jumping into Vegas. Now, I'm up to what I can only imagine is the final confrontation in Vegas, and I started tearing through Dragon Age 1. Before I did that, I was mixing it up with Borderlands, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Halo 3 ODST and some Black Ops.

The sad thing is, I really hate doing it, and I do it oftentimes for no good reason. I just get excited at the prospect of new games that are sitting on my dresser, that I'll get all the way to the end of a game, NOT finish it, and then get back to it months later when I feel like I can play it again.

    Re: Game Hopping.

I do a bit of game hopping myself.
Right now i've been playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. (I'm hooked on assassin's creed lately.)

Though at the same time I need to finish Mass Effect II(THough I may just pick up the original first) As well as Borderlands, And I still need to finish Dawn of War II, And Fallout New Vegas, Dead Money. That and the original Assassin's Creed. Though it can't seem to hold my attention.
