Ergheiz - God Bless the Ring

So I almost put this in General Final Fantasy but yeah....anyway:

Has anyone played this hidden-gem of a game? I just recently got ahold of it and it's epic. I really like it but all the charecters that aren't Final Fantasy are totally knock off of Tekken charecters, but thats okay because I like Tekken too.

So any takers?

Yeah, I totally played this game back in the day. A friend of mine had it, and when I slept over one night, she popped it into her Playstation and we played it. I totally fan-gasmed when I saw that I could play as Sephiroth. Tee hee!

Haven't played too much of it since then, but I did recently check out some Youtube videos about it, just for the nostalgia.

Total agreement with the fan-gasm by the way. I'm freaking out about Vincent and Zack.
Final Fantasy aside, the original charecters are pretty awesome too. I really like Godhand and Matsuda. (Matsu's got this crazy tackle combo where he just brutalises and beats your enemies to a bloody pulp! Love it)

I rented it a few times... Christ, maybe 10 years ago. I remember not really knowing who anyone but the FFVII characters were, but I do believe I had beaten it a few times. I remember playing as Zack quite often, and for some reason Tifa as well.

Oddly enough, I was thinking about this game the other day too!

You're lucky to have a copy of that nowadays. It's a rarety.

Ergheiz is one of the games I would love to be put up on PSN, so I can actually play it! I never owned it, but I went on holiday about 9 years ago and they had the old arcade machine for it. Needless to say, most of my money went on playing it! I remember playing as Sephiroth and Cloud most of the time.

But yeah, it was a great game. It was a fighting game that was, I felt, ahead of its time.

lol I saw this thread and it made me dig through some stuff to find it, but I still have my own copy of Ehrgeiz, yay. Actually it is technically one of my friends, however I borrowed it and forgot to give it back to him, but that's k because he has my first disc of FF9

The fighting game was fun with friends but imo the real fun part of the game was the dungeon mode, it was like Diablo with a final fantasy twist to it. It was pretty fun, I remember one day back in middle school I was sick for two days and spent the whole time trying to beat it. I got through normal mode alright, but Hard mode was just too difficult lol.

I agree with Rocky, the dungeon mode was a lot more fun then the actual fighting mode.

Over all though I loved the game in its entirety and now I want to go see if I can't find my copy in storage. It has been far to long since I played this one.

The FF cameo appearances were a surprise to see and was greatly welcomed when I first started playing but was quick to grow old.

I bought my copy at Gamestop a long time ago, back when they still had PS games. I absolutely love Eirgeiz. Although Dissidia DID kind of blow it out of the water.

This game also wins the award for hardest game title to spell without looking it up.
