Disgaea D2 has Laharl Fighting Rebel Factions and Celestial Flowers Taking Over the Underworld

More details are coming out about Disgaea D2, the direct sequel to the original Disgaea. After Laharl successfully became King of the Underworld in the first game he is now facing the threat of a faction that does not think he is worthy of the throne. In addition, he does not have the respect of the demons. The rebel faction, the King Krichevskoy Faction wants to replace Laharl with someone that is worthy of the legacy. Important figures in the faction Grosso, is the leader, Galungun the Destroyer and Rainier, who used to be Laharl babysitter when he was a baby.

The faction has someone ready for the throne, Barbara, who is skilled with a spear and comes from a knight house. She is loyal, but can only act when ordered, she otherwise doesn't think for herself. She believes becoming King/Queen will allow her to do whatever she wants. As along the way, Laharl will meet Xenolith, an introvert that ends up driving people away with his personality.

Likely part of the trigger for the faction, is that the Underworld is being invaded by Celestial Flowers, which are turning the place into something similar to Heaven. It is even bring fresh air, heaven forbid. The faction sees this as an attack by the angels and Laharl's poor leadership is the cause for it being allowed.

Laharl has of course picked the best method for handling the problem, force.
