JRPG News Post Dark Souls II Gameplay Reveal

FROM Software this week has released new information on their upcoming game Dark Souls II. Apart from just talking about it they have a new trailer and gameplay video to show off the new game and the work that they have been doing on the engine.

The big thing for some was the concerns over them wanting to make the game more appealing to the mainstream. From the videos it is clear that many of the features we have grown used to in Dark Souls remain intact. The bonfires are still present and death is still very important in the game. They even show off an environmental attack that is a one off from a dead dragon that attacks the player when first entering the chamber.

They also talked about wanting improved AI in combat. So the AI will not react with their attacks when the player is trying to flank them. So if the player is behind them they will do a different attack, making combat more challenging then the usual run around and stab from behind. There are also enemies that they showed that will be different to back stab.

A return enemy, dragons were a dangerous threat in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls with each one being a unique challenge from the rest. They showed off an area that is swarming with dragons and cutting the bridge out from the player crossing.

So it looks like the Dark Souls will remain very much the game players are used to, but with more polish and improvements to the previous game's formula.

Like always, I think I'll sit back and watch others play first. I'm trying not to have any expectations for it, so I don't really have an opinion about it. Any time a game does well, and then the staff changes, I get nervous. Doesn't look too bad though! We should play Andro <3 I hear the co op with friends will be much better this time around (Although I still say Demon's souls Online play was almost flawless in terms of co-op).

Or you can play Dark Souls uno with me and Loco. I have PC version also :3

    Ta DA!!!:

I'm thinking about creating a hybrid. A dolphin-monkey. Half dolphin, half monkey. Do you think it's possible?
I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

It was easier to co-op with who you wanted in Demon's Souls until they fixed those problems on Dark Souls. I'm always up for some co-op fun times in Dark Souls II. I would have my doubts about seeing Loco though.
