Dark Souls II Announced

Namco Bandai along with FROM Software have released an announcement trailer for Dark Souls II. It was first aired during the VGAs on Friday. There are few details about the new game. They have said that it will be a new story with a new world and new hero. So it will not be a continuation of the setting from the first Dark Souls. The trailer shows it to have a very similar feel as the first game, while showing more of the despair of dying repeatedly, which the game is famous for.

Dark Souls II will have a new director in charge, Tomohiro Shibuya. The Souls series creator will be on the project as supervisor. So it should retain most of the same feel, but there is likely going to be some differences with the game. The new director said he wants the game to evolve the experience of the series and expand the scope of the game.

They also said that there is going to be a change to the multiplayer for the game with how players play with each other. Vague words, but it will likely be explained in the future.
