I dont know how to feel about this.
While full details of Mr. Wada's future with Square-Enix are still unknown, he has stepped down as the CEO in order to "make way for management reform" and allow for restructuring. His successor in the role is Yosuke Matsuda, formerly a Representative Director on the executive board.

I kinda wish they'd let someone from Eidos (aka Square-Enix Europe) take a stab at it. Look what wonderful work the studio has done revitalizing things lately: Deus Ex. Hitman. Tomb Raider. All of these are highly regarded.
I'd say that's a mighty impressive track record for a major branch of the company in a short timespan. Put their team in charge...

Holy. Shit.
About fkng time. "...primarily due to slow sales of major console game titles in North American and European markets.” "Major Console game titles in NA and European markets"...Proves all my rage n venting about the current state of the FF brand was legitimate X) Im really happy n seeing how we entering the next gen of consoles this is a step in the right direction. Hopefully the next CEO will be attentive to the longstanding fanbase it (still) has and start on localising high demand games for the West without jeopardising the production line for the big name titles of course. I loathe the fact that assets are wasted on ******* ports for other consoles. What a waste when those same people could be working towards developing a new SE IP or quickening the development n thus release of one of the big name titles in that time. Im sure Final Fantasy XIV*drained*the company’s resources as well with its overhaul. Come June, things will hopefully start to get better this was a crucial move that was long (awhole fkng console generation!!!) overdue.
Fk this news was so left field. (EA CEO recently "stepped down" for the same reasons) Im ecstatic but still in shock
Eidos has never failed...maybe the PC versions of VII and VIII but those are old.
