Was actually looking at this today. Its a damn shame most of these games dont get localization, although I'm glad this one will. I suppose it goes without saying that its okay to play this without playing the first one?
Atlus develops games, but the American branch of Atlus will also localize other games besides the ones created by their Japanese branch. The latest game they are bringing out of Japan should come as a big surprise many, not because it is a major title never released beyond Japan, but one that just seemed too unlikely due to it's premise. Meet Conception II, which is the sequel for the 3DS and Vita. If you guessed from the title what the theme of the game is going to be then you're probably right. It is a turned-based RPG with dating sim elements and Visual Novel element with the goal as the main character to improve your relationships with other girls in order to create powerful offspring which you use as your combatants in battles in a bid to save the world.
You can expect to see this out in the Spring of 2014.

I was reading it was a standalone sequel. So my guess is that it is fine to play without the previous game. It is not like it hasn't happened before that a company released a game in the middle of a series, but I'd like to think in this day and age company are more thoughtful about how they go about localizing. I don't think Atlus would be giving us this if we'd be missing something from the last game.

Atlus are probably my favourite company right now. They hold a high standard for their games and usually make it available to everyone. Good guy atlus.
cant wait to get conceivin'! Im expecting this to be similar to persona in a few ways.
Well the good news is we'll be getting some sort of Persona related news Sunday. So you might even be in a better mood come next week.

Yeah, apparantly the voice actor for nanako updated her imdb resume with some interested things. Although most references seem to point toward a sequel to P4Arena, which I was never particulary interested in anyway. I only care about potential sequals to established titles in the series, or a new persona game.
Cant wait!
