A Newfound Discovery & Ezel the Elusive

After a long hiatus from the penned battlefield, Ritz the Reporter comes back to her loyal readers to bring you what she promised in her first debut. This story is an exclusive scoop interview with Ezel and his testing plans for new Anti-Law cards. Cid has still left a large impact even after this long time from his initial leave. Things really are not as they once were when he was in charge. Now, before I present the juicy beef of the report, there is something else that I have uncovered. It just has to be brought to the surface for all of my readers to see. Nay. All of Ivalice.

While out traveling for two years, honing my journalism skills, along with keeping my fighting techniques up to speed, I saw something just amazingly curious while I was up north in the mountains of Ambervale. A few months ago a bright flash of light flooded the sky. It was a light purple mixed with a touch of black. I'll never forget that experience, because what came out of that light changed my life, nay, the clan's life forever. Those of you who belong to other clans may already know what I'm going to speak about. But for those of you not in the know, now you're going to know.

A strange humanoid being was found deep inside the mountains. He looked part machine and part human. He had a brown tattered cloak about him and he wore all black with bits of yellow and purple designs on his armor. ..Or what looked to be armor, in any case. Whenever he attacked, sometimes his hands would change shape into a gun of some sort and blast out some magic.

It was Marche, Shara, Montblanc, and I who discovered him. We were out doing a quest from the tavern. So we headed there, got into some monster battles and took their loot that they dropped. When we reached our destination, we fulfilled the mission and were about to backtrack when the flash of light hit us. We turned back around and dodged the blast of magic.

“Where am I?” He said in a stern voice, his eyes had the look of assertiveness yet also somewhat lost. He hadn't dropped his guard even though he was in an unknown world.

“This is Ivalice. More specifically, the Ambervale mountains. You... came here from another world, didn't you?” I responded.

He glared and let out a sigh and dropped his guard. The cloak flapped around in the soft winter breeze.

    “...Yeah. How did you know?”

“Oh, the flash of light, your clothing, the way you fight...” I pointed out. I shrugged and introduced the clan leader Marche.

“Don't worry. We two are from another world also, so you're not alone in that respect. Though.. we're definitely not from your own world.”

“...I see. So what type of setting is this world in? Medival, Futuristic...?”

“Medival with a dash of magical fantasy. Those shots you did with your gun there, is what we would call magic.”

“That's all I need to know.. and I suppose I look like I have armor on. Am I right?”

    “Precisely.”

Our conversation continued as we walked out of the winter breeze and into the tavern. He was lucky that he didn't stand out too much. He mentioned he was from the “future” and was actually an android. I've never seen a robot before, so I guess he's the first one that I would see in a while. His name is Forte and he became a member of the Marche clan until he could find a way to get back to his own world.

Now onto the main beef of my article for this issue. The interview with Ezel.

I walked up the steps of his Anti-Law card shop, which for obvious sakes didn't appear as a shop with a sign blaring out its identity. It has been two years since I mentioned this interview, so you'll probably witness some new information.

I knocked on the door to greet him after two years. I waited several moments and scanned the windows on the side. The lights didn't look to be on. It was then I noticed a sign on the door.

“I've moved locations. You'll have to ask around where I am. Security patrol has been a bit tight, so forgive me for not announcing my move.”

    …..What a bugger.

This is Ritz signing off, tune in to the next issue, in hopes of me getting that bloody interview with Ezel! I'll find out where he is if it's the last thing I do!
