Floating Continent falls to the earth

Tzen, WoR – It has been 4 days since the fall of the floating continent. It seems as if the whole world is still crying out as it was ripped into pieces. The day of the catastrophe a few residents of Albrook reported that they saw the Airship Blackjack rip in half leaving the floating continent. As bits and pieces of the ship where recovered the rumor suddenly became a shocking reality, 3 days ago citizens of Maranda reported seeing the wreckage of the Airship off the Western banks of the continent. A search party was sent to see if there were any survivors, but out of the wreckage only one man was pulled, a young man by the name of Sabin Figaro, one of the heirs to the throne of Figaro, he is in critical condition but he has stabilized.

Members of the community are reluctant to help the young man out of spite with the exception of a brave few. They are blaming the current state of the world on the few that could not stop Kefka Palazzo’s evil plot; Emperor Gestahl’s part in this has all been forgotten. The rage of the town’s citizens is now turned onto the party who they trusted to save them from the damnation that is now their life. The mayor of Tzen has proclaimed that, “Mr. Figaro is not to be harmed in anyway” for the sole reason that he is royalty.

It has now became a reoccurring horror as bodies, machines, rubble and debris float over head slowly creeping South, gathering at Vector, what use to be the capitol of the Empire. At night a laugh can be heard being carried by the wind from the South, it is presumed to be the laugh of Kefka by the local populous, and during the day villagers claim they can vaguely see the outlines of what appears to be the infrastructure of a tower growing in the distance. The land surrounding it is a barren wasteland of death and sand. Little is known of what is going on there, a few people have journeyed to see what is growing up and out of the sands but none have yet to return.

Talks of another war have grown prominent through out the town as Banon of the Returners preaches, “This tattered world’s last light of hope can not be gone”. When Mr. Figaro was found, it only added fuel to Banon’s cause. Unfortunately for him in his diminishing state it seems like he will not live to see the war that he preaches about. As for Sabin, a few locals have sworn to protect him and nurture him all feeling that in some way it was not his failure for what has happened but our own. “How could we expect a few people to stop the power of the Statues?” asked the owner of Tzen’s weapons shop. He later stated, “For Sabin’s bravery we have decided to protect him because if he could he would do the same thing for us.”

In the late evening, last night, it was reported by a Chocobo scout that Kefka attacked Mobliz. Later reports stated that not a single one of Kefka’s minions were involved with the attack, but a beam of white concentrated fire shot out from the top of Kefka’s tower destroying the town in a matter of seconds. According to investigators, “No one was left alive.” The graphic report depicted remnants of parents holding onto their children, houses burned and the city was flooded. In fear, some of Tzen’s town people have ventured off; walking the path of the Serpent Trench, looking for a new home in fear of the same thing happening to their beloved home town. Some of them are not of stable mind and were quoted that, “If we can’t beat him, we will join him!” when leaving.
