We used to have a little graphic stop sign thing that said 'warned' whenever we warned a post. I wonder whatever happened to that.
Do you think it would be beneficial to add a "user was warned for this post" message if someone posts something against the rules, so that if anyone comes across the post they have a clear example of what not to do?
Curious about thoughts/ease of implementation.

I see it in Firefox, Opera, and Chrome but not in IE. For example: Che got warned
All I can say is... IE sucks.
Uhm.. I'm using Firefox and TFF Dark, but it doesn't appear anymore.
Suggested fix: Stop using TFF Dark.
But seriously, I'll have to look at the templates.
edit: TFF Dark's postbit is apparently one of the seven template pieces that are out of sync with the latest version of vB. Blarg.
edit2: Nevermind it isn't since we use postbit_legacy. It is identical to the one on TFF Light other than the images. wtf... still looking.
Does that only appear for staff/mods/admins?
I don't think I recall ever seeing that icon, and I mostly use TFF light.
It's visible to everyone but yourself if I remember correctly. ...I think.
Nope... only staff can see it. I just looked at the settings. I also tried in Opera while not logged in and did not see the warning stuff. The staff can see the warned post and total warn points someone has.
I don't see why it isn't working on TFF Dark though. I've copy+pasted the templates from Light to Dark(except the custom image tags) and nothing. I don't see a setting that limits the styles it shows on so I'm not sure at the moment. I did get it to show on IE in Light though. heh. It's weird because the warn points show but not the image at the top. It uses the same type of conditional for both.
I guess I'll just use Light, then. It generally would be better for my eyes I guess. Or something.
Alright, while that is helpful to the mods, my original question was what your thoughts were on making it viewable to members (or if it's an option in the settings).
I really think it would benefit members to be able to see it. "Oh, Che got warned for that. I'm confused as to why, oh that's probably why. I guess I won't do that."
That's actually not a bad idea.
I don't know that showing the warning level publicly is good (since they do stick around for three months and are often irrelevant after a couple weeks time) but showing the warned post stop sign icon isn't a bad idea at all.
Honestly... I always thought everyone could see that. :3

Unfortunately, both use the same flag so it isn't either/or without doing customizing of templates manually. Also, it still doesn't work on TFF Dark for whatever bloody reason. The two styles are identical other than the images yet the damned thing doesn't show.
