Another glitch

I had a problem getting on here yesterday. I can't quote the exact error that kept coming up, but it said something along the lines of :

Fatal Error. X-cache not set up.

Something along those lines. I thought it was something to do with my computer, but it wasn't. I got a friend from another country to try it, and he got the same error.

I have noticed that one post was able to get through, but I'm not sure if others have had this problem.

Well since you were able to come back on and post this, that means the error was fixed, doesn't it? xP
Cause when that glitch happened, the whole forum was down for everyone, not just a few select people. So it wasn't really a glitch, more like something broke.
But now it's fixed.

It happened in the first place because Fuzz was doing major server updates. So the weird glitch happened probably because of that, he says. But when he checked TFF after the updates, everything appeared fine, so who knows. But it's okay now. So...

It wasn't just the forum, the entire website was down. Probably server maintenance, but since I haven't received any communication, I don't know for certain.

I didn't feel the need to to completely make a new thread, but has anyone noticed this weird linking glitch going on?

If I'm on a person's profile, sometimes in their friends list, a users avatar will display black. If you click on it, it links to an older members profile ( like say, around 02 and 05 are ones that I've seen so far.)

This isn't like that member who joined that was linking to a similar named user. it's completely different.

I've noticed the linking thing too. I've found that it happens to pretty much any member that has some sort of symbol in front of their username. I suppose it happens to members that use symbols at the end of their username too. Still don't know why it would cause it to link to another profile though. :/

The only thought I have is that a registry file may be overwritten in the database, that's being recognized by a previous database profile folder. Check root commands and folder redirection. Check your A+ also.

EDIT: Just an update, it's still going on, I tried clicking any link to H.U.N.K.'s profile and it links me to some ash2k person. I just wanna tell hunk that I love him but tff is not gay enough for me

It has nothing to do with that... it is a problem inherent in vbSEO's changing of links and handling of them. Non-alphanumeric stuff ****s it up... Solution? Fuzz needs to poke it.

As far as the X-Cache thing goes, that is an error from whatever Fuzz was doing. The cache was probably being cleaned out, dumped, restarted, or whatever. If there was no cache, TFF would be royally hosed right now to the point you wouldn't be able to do anything.

You don't think it was connected with the time when you were trying to find the [Delete Cache] button do you? Someone at the SEOvB should be able to point out the right spot for poking. Do you think there would be an opinion over at vBulletin dot org? Someone else using this vB version, other than Invision or phpBB, might have run into this problem before.
