A lot of rumors going around lately where I live

I don't believe any of them considering the demo gave you the ability to play as Lighting or Snow.

I was wondering if any of you had heard some crazy rumors around your end or even on the internet.

Rumor in my area that's going around is, 'Your only allowed to play as lightning through out the entire game'

Well to respond to this rumor you have heard about "being only able to play as Lightning throughout the whole game" is false. Throughout the early chapters of the story "you", the player, will be in control of every character at some point as the game frequently changes. Sometimes Lightning is in the party but is not the lead/playable character. Now, who is in your party is not up to the player as it is predetermined by story and until the player reaches Pulse; in Pulse the player is allowed to put any character into their team.

It's more of a misconception than anything else.

You only ever command one character at a time, so if you play as Lightning all the time...

But otherwise, Zargabaath has the right idea. You'll spend time physically playing as whichever character is the lead of your party.
