I'm near the end and I'm stuck >_<

I'm near the end, I'm stuck on the 'Varandisraus' fight, (the c'ieth with the big sword...) the one where you examine the statue and it teleports you to the room where it is... I got the bandersnatch and the other one okay...

Varandisraus <-- YOU SUCK!!

I wouldn't have a problem but one of it's attacks takes a stupid amount of HP off me and D:
Any tips or suggestions? I really want to finish this game

If you dont care about stars, the easy(long way) is make a group with rav/sen/med or com/sen/med, could even make a second with med/sen/syn to get buffs up. Basically keep a Sentinel out to make sure he/she takes those large hits.

edit: might like a paradigm with 2 med's and a sen too

Uses Saboteurs to inflict the good stuff. And use Synergist for Haste and Protect. Build up the chain gauge with Ravs, and unload with Coms when its staggered. If you're using Lightning as the leader, once its staggered, use Army of One to really build up the percentage. If you're using Fang, try to get it as high as possible before it depletes. Then use Highwind for MASSIVE DAMAGE.

You think this fight is bad? Pretty soon, there's one against both this guy AND the Emperor dude.

Eeeeeeehhhhhhh, you don't have to do that. If you have a Deceptisol you will be fine. I got tired of getting closer to the end slowly, as is a common occurence with RPGs for me, and used a Deceptisol that lasted till I got to the next story point.

In the end, it is up to you Grasshopper.

OMG!!!

Seriously, just attempted it again after the other night when I was getting soooo frustrated ...

I did it 1st go AND got 5 stars!! lmao, got him in just over a minute...
It was STUPIDLY easy!!!

I took note of what everyone said and instead of having a synergist I just used a Fortisol and an Aegisol before examining the statue that teleports you!

So without needing a synergist I took Sazh out of my regular line-up and replaced him with Snow because he has the highest amount of HP out of my characters...
I set my team up as :

Lightening (leader) : Ravenger,
Vanille : Ravanger &
Snow : Sentinal.

I had another the same but with Vanille as a medic just in case my HP got low but honest to god NO-ONE got in the red, so I just kicked it's ass with my two ravengers whilst Snow took the heat from it...

I just beat it too actually, about an hour ago. I used Lightning/Fang/Hope, it took awhile but I did beat him. Frig.

Although the Sanctum Templar and this guy again after this fight is not nice at all!

I know, not looking forward to it >_< but think I'm gonna leave Snow in my team as a sentinal for now... I couldn't believe how well this method worked.. I was amazed!

if only I had tried it earlier in the game haha, could have saved alot of hassle! nevermind
