I think that Hikari sounds the best. Also I think Utada Hikaru sings better in Japanese. Also the English lyrics seem kind of strange... If any of these, I'll think of Hikari when I'm thinking about Kingdom Hearts.
Right I have a debate!
I have been wondering, what song brings out the true meaning of Kingdom Hearts? Passion (Japanese) ,Sanctuary (English) , Simple and Clean (English) and Hikari (Japanese)
I have the lyrics for each and as you can see they are very far from similar. What sounds the best and what gives of the true essence of KH?
It's your decision!

I went for Passion, because the lyrics seem to tie with past events in KH.
I love the sound and beat!
I would of went for Hikari only if it was the PLANITb version but I haven't counted the remixes in the poll.
My things:
I voted Simple and Clean, because I think it's a better song than Sanctuary and I'm more familiar with it than the original japanese version of the songs. As for what I think captures the essence of KH, I'm going with Hikari. Just by reading the lyrics I think that's what really captures what KH was about.
Haha, it's kind of funny how the words to these songs have to get changed so much from Japanese to English.
Click at your own risk.:
That what I was thinking Dodie.
If the lyrics remained unchanged I might of been swayed to vote for the english versions of the songs.
And Treize she doe's happen to sing better in Japanese too, I have noticed that and she does make a little more sense in her Japanese versions too.
My things:
Freebird.
This belongs in music.

Oh, I was voting for the PLANITb remix... I don't really like the original version of Hikari as much. With the originals, it is a toss up between Hikari and Passion. Hikari does have better lyrics though. The songs in Japanese flow much better than the English alternatives. Utada Hikaru isn't that bad at singing in Enlgish, but the Japanese songs sound better and they seem to make more sense.
In conclusion, I do think that Hikari's lyrics reflect Kingdom Hearts the best, but even then not as well as it could have, I suppose.
I don't think so... this topic is asking our opinion on which song brings out the true meaning in Kingdom Hearts, not really what is our favorite.Originally Posted by Pete
i voted for Sanctuary because i love the whole idea of saying the words backwards and it always seems to get stuck in my head whenever i hear the song. i did like Passion and Hikari too. all her songs are amazing to be honest. she's an amazing singer.
i like all songs sang by Hikki. She really has talent on music.. Japanese or English, both are GREAT! i love it! >.<
but for KH soundtrack i like Sanctuary the most.. the lyrics and the music is fit nicely and perfectly! ^^

I have to put in my vote for Sancuary, it's a great song that's grown on me since KHII came out
I was very familiar with Simple and Clean. Rising Sun did a remix of it in rock, and I liked it. Though, the song didn't really have a connection to the game, it was a good song. ovo
Hikari's lyrics piques my curiosity. When and where did the game hold one lousy television? xD They have lots of computers, lots of shiny random buttons, lots of shiny random buttons on advanced computers, leading to a cyberspace with MORE shiny buttons and gizmos, and finally, some shiny buttons leading to a virtual town with broken screens.
But do they have a television? Nooooooo. Not one screen showing a cheesy comercial, either.
Sanctuary has very little ref to the game. You know, watching while he's sleeping?
I'd say my best vote is Passion. Reminds me of, well, the entire KH series, and the manga. ovo
.....And I also stole that cupcake.

I'd say all versions are great. I'm a little more drawn to the Japanese versions, but that's because Utada has a great voice in any way.
But personally, I like he reversed english ones. They seem to be a song in their own right. o_O

I'm going through a bit of a The World Ends With You phase right now.Click THERE:
actually ididnt hear hikari soo i went serving the net and after i heard it isay the best is hikari than after it is passion both jap coz utada got areal good voice talking about her i love the flavour of life by her
^____^
Well.. I prefer Passion to Sanctuary. Both of them is sung perfectly by Utada Hikaru, but the lyrics of Passion is better. The song is simple but it can makes my heart wavering
Japanese Utada all the way! In some of Utada's English songs she sounds kinda weird but in her Japanese songs she sounds great! I voted for Sanctuary because I think it is a perfect song for KH2. The lyric " where fears and lies melt away" I believe applies when Sora is hanging out with Riku and Kairi. Sora seems so worry-free when he is hanging out with them, and thats why I think Sanctuary is a better song for Kingdom Hearts than all the other ones.
i can't decide i love both
