Your most used party

We all have our favorite characters, but do use them in your party based on their abilities? Mine are as follows:

VII= Cloud, Barret, Tifa
VIII=Squall, Rinoa, Zell
IX=Zidane, Garnet, Quina, Freya
X=Tidus, Wakka, Lulu (although I found myself switching a lot)
XII=not vaan (haha). Ashe, Balthier, Fran.
XIII=Lightning, Sahz, Snow (although some battles require certain characters, they were my final 3)

Whilst most characters are able to learn just as much as the other characters (excluding IX), I found myself sticking to those particular characters.

IV - Cecil, Palom, Porom, Yang, Kain; After Years - Palom, Leonora, Edward, Calca, and Brina
IX - Zidane, Eiko, Vivi, Amarant
X - Wakka, Tidus, and Yuna, before the Sphere Grid is abused.

IV- Cecil,Rosa,Edge,and Rydia ( err...lol)
VI- Terra,Locke,Celes,and Edgar
VIII- Squall,Rinoa,and Selphie
IX- Zidane,Garnet/Dagger,Vivi,and Steiner
X- Tidus,Yuna,and Auron
XII- Ashe,Balthier,and Fran
XIII- Lightning,Hope,and Fang(or Snow if I wanted to just change things up a bit lol)

FFIV: You can never really choose a party in this game; that is until the GBA/PSP versions came about. So now that they allowed that, I like to keep the original ending party except switch out Edge for Yang. Yang, at high levels and with the Godhand, is an absolute BEAST.

FFIV The After Years: Cecil, Kain, Ceodore, Palom and Porom. Rosa and Rydia had their chance in the spotlight by saving the world in the first game, so I gave Palom and Porom the chance to do it in The After Years and they ended up being just as good, if not better as mages than Rosa and Rydia. No, Palom couldn't summon, but I didn't really use summons very much in the final chapter anyway, since regular magic was good enough. Also, I liked using Golbez too, but halfway through the final chapter, he becomes pretty much useless, since his HP stays the same all throughout the game and his magic becomes useless when you have the more powerful Palom and Rydia available.

FFVI: Terra (or Celes), Sabin, Shadow and Strago. Terra for her powerful magic (same with Celes). Sabin for his Blitzes and his strong physical strength. Shadow, because he looked damn cool. Strago for his Lores.

FFVII: Cloud, Tifa (later game)/Aeris (earlier game), and Barret. They were just my three (well, four really) favorite characters in the game. Though, I liked them all, except Cait Sith.

FFVIII: Squall, Rinoa, Zell.

FFIX: Zidane, Dagger, Vivi and Steiner. Zidane was cool and his Thievery ability is really f'n useful, especially since it ignores defense. Dagger...I just love her. She's awesome. Vivi for his cool look and strong black magics. Steiner for his class as a knight, the fact he uses swords and his physical strength.

FFXII: I really never choose one favorite party. I make two parties out of the six characters with them split as evenly as possible and I switch out every few levels. But if I DID choose a favorite party, it'd be Balthier, Fran and Ashe. Balthier for being the "cool character" of the game. Ashe for her look, which is cool and sexy at the same time; her character's not too bad, either. Fran for...well, she's just sexy with those long legs and her little thong outfit she's got going on.

On a side note: I must be tired, because I found and edited at least five grammar mistakes after typing this.

FFVIII: MAIN (After everything was said and done) Squall Rinoa Zell. I kind of left Irvine, Selphie and Quistis at around level 50. Or I'd switch Irvine for Zell when I was in the mood. I always keep Squall and Rinoa together though. Not sure why.

FFX: Everyone whenever I could. That way they can all level up faster. In the beginning of the game I'd have Tidus, Wakka and Auron to start, then switch when needed. Usually switch Yuna with Wakka, Kimahri with Tidus and Lulu with Auron. Then I'd try to fit Rikku in if the battle would allow it. I never really leveled up Rikku. Again, not sure why.

FFXII: NEVER VAAN. As soon as I figured out that I could switch leaders, he was OUT. I liked to have Ashe (Leader), Balthier and Basch. If I needed someone with range, I'd get Fran in there, but I found her kind of useless at times. If I set the Gambits up right they'd all do their thing and I'd just sit and watch everyone's health. Then take over when someone was dying. I liked that battle system. You could avoid hits easily and heal when required. You weren't just glued to doing one thing at a time. Then you could back out of a battle whenever I felt I wasn't ready. It was cool.

FFXIII: Lightning, Hope/Sazh, Fang/Snow. I don't use Vanille very much. I started to hate her character after the altercation with Sazh. They all have pretty much learned the Medic role (At this time. I'm still working on it). It really depends on what kind of action I want to take. I like to take advantage of the Sentinel role when the time calls for it. This is actually a hard game though. I find myself needing to level up more then I ever have in a game. Getting all that CP is a pain.

FFI: I Liked the very first party I ran, aka Fighter, Black Belt, Thief and White Mage.

FFII: Firion, Maria and Guy were the core three heroes, though I really liked Leon once he came back.

FFIII: My favorite classes were the Ninja, Lancer, Dark Knight and Sage.

FFIV: I liked to switch out Kain for Cid at the final battle, but I enjoyed the default party as well.

FFV: 2 Mime and 2 Freelancers best way to do it!

FFVI: I think the core party I played was Sabin, Celes, Shadow and Terra.

FFVII: I was a big fan of Cid as soon as I saw the opening scene of meeting him, so he stayed in my party after that for the rest of the game. The third party member switched around a lot but I was a fan of Yuffie a lot.

FFVIII: Zell and Quistis were my core party. Zell for his booya times infinity. Quistis's blue magic was rocking too, mighty guard, degenerator, shockwave pulsar, lots of damage and utility potential from her.

FFIX: I used Dagger, Steiner and Freya every time I could pick my full party.

FFX: I also used everyone equally, I liked to keep people on pace with their sphere grid lol because I'm OCD like that.

FFXII: Again, liked using everyone equally.

FFXIII: My main party was Lightning as leader, with Sazh and Fang. Besides the lack of a strong healer, this team really worked well for me.

FF III - Ninja Luneth, Devout Refia, Dark Knight Ingus, and Magus Arc

FF VI - Edgar, Locke, Celes, and Relm

FF VII - Cloud, Vincent and Yuffie

FF VIII - Squall, Zell, and Selphie

FF IX - Zidane, Eiko, Vivi, and Amarant (or Steiner)

FF X - Always, always Auron (^^), Wakka, and either Lulu or Tidus. The others never got much battle time.

FF XII - Always Basch (Kept him as my lead), Vaan and Fran. Balthier would see battle sometimes as well, but I almost never used Ashe or Penelo.

FF XIII - For quite a majority of the game, I kept the Fang/Light/Hope set up, but for post-game, I like using Vanille/Hope/Fang. I have rarely used Snow and Sahz.

II: Firion, Maria, Guy and Ricard were my favourite. I can't be bothered getting Leon up to speed, and he's not a dragoon like Ricard. Dragoons are always cool.

III: Ninja, Geomancer, Sage, Dark Knight

IV: Picking from any five: Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Yang, Kain. Although I've never had the luxury of choosing because I've only played the original.

V: By the end, four Freelancers. All have a huge range of class abilities, always including at least one capable of using Blue Magic.

VI: Terra, Celes, Cyan, Strago

VII: Cloud, Cid, Red XIII

VIII: Squall, Quistis, Irvine

IX: Zidane, Qunia, Vivi, Dagger

X: Mix it up, but when they're equivalent in the post-game: Yuna (as she's the only one with a non-limit break point of difference (Summon), Kimahri, Auron.

XII: Balthier, Ashe, Penelo

XIII: Lightning, Hope, Fang. Never really used anyone else.

Final Fantasy - Usual choice, Warrior/Knight, Thief/Ninja, White Mage/White Wizard, and Black Mage/Black Wizard

Final Fantasy II - Firion, Guy, Maria, Leon

Final Fantasy III - At first Warrior, Monk, White Mage, and Black Mage, later on Two Ninjas, and Two Sage's.

Final Fantasy IV - Cecil, Kain, Rydia, Rosa, Edge

Final Fantasy V- Can't, nor do I care to remember my job combination.

Final Fantasy VI - Terra, Locke, Sabin, Celes

Final Fantasy VII - Cloud, Tifa, Vincent

Final Fantasy VIII - Zell, Squall, Quistis

Final Fantasy IX - Zidane, Garnet, Vivi, Quina

Final Fantasy X - Tidus, Lulu, Yuna, every now and then I would switch one of my party members with Auron

Final Fantasy XII - Vaan, Basch, Balthier

FFVIII- Squall, Irvine and Quistis. I don't like using Zell, because he's always been crap with magic for me. Rinoa just bugged me in battle, because every time she'd get hurt I felt like Squall had to protect her. I'm weird. I did use Selphie at times. Like the one time I've beaten Omega so far. Omega is my ultimate goal now.

FFIX- Zidane, Vivi, Steiner, and Garnet for healing or Freya if I just needed to whoop up on someone.

FFX- It's been awhile, but I believe it was Zidane, Lulu, Rikku and Auron mostly.

FFXII- Vaan, Balthier and Fran, with Fran as leader mostly.

VII- Squall, Zell and Selphie-Selphie was my mage, and Squall and Zell limit breaks
IX- Zidane, Vivi, Garnet and Steiner or Amarant, depending on my mood
X- I did a lot of switching, I wanted all my characters to be powerful, but starting off a battle it usually was Auron, Lulu and Tidus
XII- Same story with X, I switched everyone around to have the same level, but my favorite party was Basch, Ashe and Penelo (Penelo being my curer, Ashe for black magic and Basch to smash

It depends which Final Fantasy game one is playing i presume. I typically ended up playing with the characters i liked in reference to their personalities and story development, not so much their abilities and techniques.

FFI:
- Warrior
- Thief
- White Mage
- Black Mage

FFVII:
- Cloud
- Yuffie
- Vincent (although i did usually swap in the other characters from time to time to keep their levels somewhat consistent; Cid was a close fourth character)

FFX:
- Auron
- Lulu
- Rikku (Kimahri was a close fourth)

FFXII:
- Vaan
- Balthier
- Fran (i stuck with the three characters cause they grew on me xD)

FFXIII:
- Snow
- Hope
- Fang (Sazh was a close fourth)
