It would be good to find out which FFs everyone has in their current collections (including films) and what the general favourite installment is for everyone. I have:

And, I have seen Advent Children and The Spirits Within once each. It was playing on Encore! one day and I recorded it on my DVR.

Out of what I own, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy X-2 are my favorites. I don't think I can pick between the three of them. However, from what I have played of Final Fantasy VII, I think that it might become my favorite soon. I have only had it for a few weeks, and I am still on Disc 1. It is just so easy to get involved with the story and develop an interest in the character's progress with the situation they are put in.

My favorite is FFIV. FFVI and IX come very close, but the nostalgic value of FFIV for me gives it a slight edge over the other two.

Im assuming you have a ps3 if you have XIII, and ps3 are region free. So you should be able to watch it on your ps3.

My favorite?
Played almost all of them excluding FF XI, any FF's exclusive to the Psp, Game Cube, Ds or Wi.
Liked somthing about each one of them.(i.e. the Judges and their wicked armor in FF XII, the end of the world in FF III on S.N.E.S.
But if I had to pick just one it would have to be FF VII.
Overall story line,the plot twist, game play (battle system, skill and magic set up.) how a major character gets killed, secret characters, challenging optional bosses, loads of secrets, side-quests and mini-games, and one wicked villian. I could keep going but you get the point.
The only thing is after seeing Advant Children is I loved to see a remake. Exact same game just better graphics.

The only games I currently own are Crisis Core and the ROMs of Dawn of Souls, V Advance, and VI Advance. I traded in the majority of my collection a couple of years ago, but now I regret it. Joining this forum gave the urge to start playing Final Fantasy again.

I wouldn't say I have a favourite. It's a tie between VI, VII, X and XII as they were the games that I found little fault with. The others, I found, had at least one thing I didn't like, although I've enjoyed every FF game I've played. My least favourite would have be II due to the tedious levelling system, all the grinding it required, and the fact that the last bosses in the game were either too hard or too easy depending on whether you used the Blood Swords, although I still liked it.

My English copy will show the opening cutscene but go no further, so if I fancy a bash on it I have to break out my French dictionary or Google Translate, though I can understand a lot of the dialogue. Not because I am awesome at French, mind (although I can convince French peole in France I am one of them - but that's another story!), but because I played FFVIII half to death so I pretty much know the dialogue off by heart. Embarrassing, much!?
Final Fantasy IX (for PS 1 obviously; I will start a new game of this in a second if TV doesn't get better!)
Final Fantasy X (well sort of, I have actually lost my original copy which I got for my 19th birthday; can't find it anywhere, and both copies I bought to replace it are faulty. FML... One of them jams up right before Auron says "We called it Sin", and the resulting shot before the game freezes is Tidus pacing around before appearing to hide behind Auron like a pu$$y. )

My fave is FFX followed VERY closely by FFVII I have not played FFXIII but have seen it played and intend to play it sometime in the future soi I voted for that one too. I have seen the Advent Children movie (the Blu-Ray complete version after watching the original DVD version) and absolutely love it my most fave film ever it would take something life changing to beat it in my eyes!!!
