Who remembers tonberries? Tonberry tonberry tonberry!
In FF7, at first you're like, who's that little toad lookin dude in a robe with a lantern? And then he moves around a little bit... you're like wtf is he doin? Then... STAB you're owned. Butcher knife to the gut. Owned. Just like Michael Myers.

Tonberries are the greatest creature ever invented in Final Fantasy. Prove me wrong.

Are they in the newest FFs? I don't remember any in 10... I do in 11, but not 10. After 10 I lost hope, I was so depressed. HOW COULD SQUARE ENIX FORGET ABOUT THEIR GREATEST INVENTION EVER?

Oh Tonberries are in X, you can find them in The Cavern of the Stolen Faith, Omega Ruins and the Don Tonberry can be fought in the Monster Arena (I think that's the right order). They're pretty lethal if battled with a weaker party and i'm pretty sure they have an attack called Voodoo that KO's Aeons or something similar. It's been a while since I played X.

Oh dang I played X to the end and I don't even remember the tonberries... I either missed that part or just have a terrible memory.

i dont think there are any in XII. however, there are 2 missions (sidequest) in XIII where you have to hunt down tonberries. the first is just 1, but the 2nd mission has 3 you have to kill...all while they are trying to stab you in the gut.

Wasn't there a HUGE Tonberry Boss in FFVIII... I seem to remember fighting him and the thing becoming a GF...

Oh yeah, the Tonberry King in the Centra Ruins, near where you get Odin. You have to fight 20 of them, which are easily dispatched by Demi or Diablos, but after you have beaten your quota of 20, King Tonberry appears, he is hard as all hell to beat, AND he is immune to Diablos' attacks. At least you can go to the World Map and save, or even come back later without having to re-fight the 20 Tonberries.Which is a relief...

Whilst not being an awesomely powerful GF, Tonberry has some pretty useful abilities, such as discounts at shops or Call Shop (useful in disc 4), and his animation is really cute and funny... ^_^

Tonberries come on if you have played any FF game you WILL know what a Tonberry is and if you don't then you must be a bit dense (sorry but it is true!) as for them my least favourite was the Master Tonberry in FF7 until I discovered you could use Freeze to paralyze them and you could also Morph them into the best accessory in the game a Ribbon. I loved the challenge in FF8 to get the Tonberry GF though a little difficult (the GF ability is pretty poor though) but the abilities it can learn such as Call Shop, Sell High, Haggle and familiar make up for that so it is well worthwhile in my eyes ta getting this GF.

Oh yeah ribbon was awesome. I always liked when I was proning face in the arena and then they send the little tonberry my way... and he's the biggest challenge for a while.

Tonberries are great. Once you finally catch one in FFXIII-2, you have a character that can do loads of damage and status effects. While I am partial to moogles, tonberries rank a close second with chocobos placing third.

I remember the enjoyment of slaughtering 20 of them consecutively then butchering the Don-tonberry... they're resemble something that terrorfied me when I was little. Ill post about it. Look for "my nightmare" under gen chat.

I actually quite like Tonberries. My most memorable encounter with them is in XIII when I came across a group of three (!) at the Archlytte Steppe. They were a bit tricky so I managed to pre emp them!

When I see a tonberry I drop my pizza and pick up my controller, because I know what will happen if I don't throw my all into destroying that evil little creature, I might even have to (dare I say it) flee!
They are especially awful in FFX-2 (the BIG ones, shudder)
