X and X-2 are the only sequels the others are completely different storylines
Hey guys! I'm new to the whole FF thing, and I like it a lot. I recently got FFXIII and love it. I really want to play the other games, but are any of the games sequels to each other? I know that X-2 is a direct sequel to X, but thats about it. I just don't want to play any games out of order.
Thanks in advance!

Correct Final Fantasy X-2 is a sequel to Final Fantasy X, but each main entry is stand-alone. The sequels or prequels will always have the same number as the original game (such as Final Fantasy X-2 or Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII).
You can play the games in any order you like though I suggest starting at the beginning that way you can see how the series developed and grew.
Main series FFs Beaten - FF: 4x, FFII: 3x, FFIII: 3x, FFIV: 3x, FFV: 3x, FFVI: 4x, FFVII: 5x, FFVIII: 5x, FFIX: 3x, FFX: 4x, FFXII: 3x, FFXIII: 2x, FFXV: 2x
Thats what I was thinking. I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks!
