Which one?

i have the psn version of FFVII and i have dissidia. I like 7 alot but have played a few other ones (i dont know what exactly) and they are way more fun! Which game should i get? (i am going to get 10 and 10-2 cause i play tidus in dissidia) and i will get 13 when it comes out.

Well FFVIII and FFT are both available on the PSN as well. FFT is Final Fantasy Tactics, which definitely worth playing if you get the chance. And since you have a PS3 and possible PS2 or PS3 backwards compatible with a PS2 then you can pretty much get every single main series game apart from FFIII which has only been released on the DS in the US.

So it really depends on your preference more than anything. If you want some old school Nintendo era RPGs FFI-FFVI are your bet and you can get those with FF Origins, FF Chronicles and FF Anthology PSone packages. If you want newer stuff then FFIX, FFXII are worth it as well since you already played FFVII and are getting FFX and FFX-2 and I already mentioned FFVIII. The PS2 era FF games are more experimental than previous FF which stuck closer to active time battle or turn based actions. Which tends to develop a stronger polarization among the fans for the experimental nature that they have.

If you can find it( a big if) I would personally recommend VIII if you liked VII as they are probably the two most similar( both being on the same development cycle) of the 3D era( as well as being my two favourites). If you can find it( should be easier due to being released on multiple systems) you should try VI which, despite being 2D, is a masterpiece.

Hmmmm... I'll have to say go with VIII as well. Like Andromeda said, it's available for download via the PSN, and it's a pretty good FF game. Granted, it's a love story, but it's still nice to play and the FMV visuals are still pretty remarkable, at least I think they still are.

Personally, I found IX to be pretty fun, but it might be harder to find a copy of the game since it's not in the PSN (yet?) and it didn't get any ports like many of the other titles have.

So that's my two cents, but ultimately it's up to you.

My personal favorites are the PlayStation games. (FFVII-FFIX and Tactics) I think that Final Fantasy VI and VIII are the most similar to Final Fantasy VII. Also, it really depends upon what type of plot you like. If you like a fantasy type plot, go for Final Fantasy IV or IX. If you want a game that is similar to Final Fantasy VII, get Final Fantasy VIII or Final Fantasy VI. If I were you, I would get Final Fantasy VIII and IX. Final Fantasy VIII has more of a sci-fi, futuristic type plot, and Final Fantasy IX has a more classic fantasy approach. This way, you can get the best of both worlds. Finally you'll want to get Final Fantasy Tactics if you like strategy RPGs because in my opinion it has the best system out there and can get pretty addicting.

You may not want to be so quick to get Final Fantasy X-2. It is not as good as Final Fantasy X, and Tidus is not even a main character. Well, let's just say that you won't be seeing him much in the game. Final Fantasy X-2 is more of a fan service game focusing on three girls who change appearance and clothing frequently. The plot isn't that interesting either.

Personally you should try playing Final Fantasy IX, I say that is the best Final Fantasy game that I've played behind Final Fantasy X in my opinion and after that try Final Fantasy VIII. Honestly I haven't played a bad Final Fantasy game, so pretty much its you choice to make.
