Final Fantasy Explorers will be Your Mini-XI or XIV Fix
New details have come out about Final Fantasy Explorers, the recently announced multiplayer action RPG for the 3DS. Apart from the 4 jobs announced, they have confirmed there will be about 20 jobs total with some others being Dragoon, Paladin, Thief, Ninja, Red Mage, Time Mage and Bard. When players learn abilities on the job they will be able to use them on others as well, customizing their jobs. It will also be more position focused like it is in FFXIV and has been described as being more like a lite version of the MMOs rather than a direct Monster Hunter type game.
The game world is a single island, but it has many different areas to visit on the island and can freely walk the entire island. It will be able to recruit monsters to your party after defeating them and go around as 2 players and 2 monsters. The main percentage of the game starts after the story is finished with them saying it has between 100 to 200 hours of content.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

You seriously cannot anticipate how much I will whore myself out on this game when it is released.
Goodbye, FFXIV.
Hello, handheld MMO-ish fix.

Four days ago, there was an update stating that the game would connect players both over Wi-Fi and local ad-hoc play alike. SOURCE - The subtitle reads "Action RPG for up to 4 people to enjoy via ad-hoc / Wi-Fi"
