Square Enix has confirmed that it was nothing more than a tech demo. They have no plans to turn it into a game or anything. It was merely for them to show off their new engine. It is certainly an interesting visual, but that is all it'll be.
What's the deal with this? Is it a movie? A future game? An idea that got scrapped in the end? I had assumed when I saw the trailer -last- year that this would end up being XV, but that's obviously not the case. I haven't really been able to Google any info on it 'cuz the BF's been playing Ragnarok for like 3 weeks straight, and he's about to come confiscate the laptop back from me, sooo... Yeah.
