FF VIII and IX too similar?

As soon as I saw this topic, my face did this :

I don't see the any super similarities, at all.

Also seeing that FFIX in particular, takes small aspects and parts from most of the FF's before it.

EDIT: Why does the Title say VII? but it's in FFVIII section....
