    FF on consoles

So I am fresh Brand New to FF. Just got III and IV for DS and LOVE it!!!! Just a question...I want to play others when I finish these question is I only have the DS, Wii, and playstation 2...(used to have the old playstation but sold it) I plan to get an xbox 360 soon...but saving up is tough when paying for college. Anyway I was wondering which FF I can get for what i have and when i get an xbox. I would like to play like III IV V VI VII..ect but it seems the games are so spread out console wise, one is on this, the next is on the other the nest on yet another. I want to keep playing...so are there remakes that are on todays systems? this sounds confusing now hahaha all I want to know is if there are redo's on todays systems (like FF III on DS) and which games can I play on DS, Wii, PS2, and soon Xbox?

    Re: FF on consoles

Do you own a DS with a gameboy slot? Also, are you wanting to just stick with the main series of games? There's a load of spinoffs and sequels.

But in a nutshell, here's some FF games for the consoles/handheld you have:

DS (if it has a GB port): FF I, II, IV, V, and VI. All those have GB releases, and the only FF games with a DS port are III and IV, which you already own.

PS2 (your PS2 can play PSOne games, you just need a memory card for 'em): FF V, VI, VII, VIII, IX (<--- PSOne Releases). X, XII (<--- PS2 Releases) There's also FF X-2 for the PS2, which is a sequel to FF X.

    XBox360: FF XIII

There are Final Fantasy games for the Wii, but you have to go through the Shop Channel to get them. If you do that, you can play: FF I, II, III, IV, The After Years (which is a sequel to FF IV) and Mystic Quest.

So, plenty of games to choose from, and I hope this helps! I'm sure there's more that I'm missing, but that should be a good start.

Dodie forgot to mention that there is also a PS1 port of FFI/FFII called Final Fantasy Origins.

Also another avenue you might want to explore is gaining the first few titles as a cell phone port. Given you would have to have a cell phone capable of playing the games. I know Iphone owners seem to enjoy the games on their phones and also the few that I have talked to about them say they run smoothly but the down fall is the games tend to suck the life out of their batteries.

Watch out there. The FF II and III for WiiWare is the US II and III (aka FF IV and VI respectively).

Also, SirTownsend, don't forget the first 2 games. Play them for GBA, PSP, or PS1 first!

Well, to be honest, you can get for free several emulators that will play FF1-9 pretty damn well based on your PC. Getting FF13 for Xbox 360 is like getting the ass end of the deal. I mean they cut out major things to let it even run on Xbox.
FFX and X-2 are alright on PS2, but the international versions are 10X better. FF12 is also well played but again, international all the way, or also (PAL)
