    Entire FF Series Question

So i've been playing Final Fantasy since i was about 7, when Final Fantasy VII came out, which is like 14 years ago. I've played all Final Fantasies, from VII +, except XIV, but i haven't played I-VI, and i was wondering if anyone knew which consoles each one is available for?

I would Google it, but my browser is stuck on this forum just now, won't let me load any other pages, and i'm charging my laptop

Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated

    thanks guys.

I'm not sure what 1 and 2 are for, a guess would be NES.

FFIII - The only english version I know of is that recently a DS version was made of it (the 2nd screen is completely useless as usual)

FFIV - I think this was for NES or SNES but I've always played the Anthology/Chronicles version for PS1.

FFV - Currently playing it in the PS1 Anthology version. There is also the GBA version where they crappy modernize everything; monsters, character names, cities etc... it makes getting info really annoying.

FFVI - Super Nintendo (as FFIII) but also on Playstation in the Final Fantasy Anthology set and on the Gameboy advance. Gameboy advance again slaughters every name making them more "correct" but was really needless.

    Re: Entire FF Series Question

Final Fantasy I, II, and III were originally released on NES, til recently English version of Final Fantasy III was only available on NDS, now you can find it for smartphones, and in same quality as NDS version.

Final Fantasy IV, V, VI, were originally released on SNES, though under somewhat different name, IV, and VI were II, and III, due to being second, and third game in franchise to hit the western market.

Almost all above mentioned games had remakes, and re-releases over the years, Final Fantasy I and II are available on GBA as Dawn of Souls package, IV, V, and VI are also available for same platform, but as separate titles. You can also find I, and II as anniversary edition for PsP with enhanced graphics, just the other day IV went through same treatment, with "The After Years" content being included as well.

    Re: Entire FF Series Question

Definately. I know some of the PS3 models came without backward compatibility, but as long as your PS2 is capable, then yeah, you're golden.

Man I love the oldschool games. Have you played any of them before? 4, 5 or 6?

    Re: Entire FF Series Question

You know they feel a little different than the early Zelda titles. The worlds are bigger, but yes, I guess you could make that comparison.

You'll be happy to start with 2. I think 4 & 6 are the pre-eminant games of the early ones, so you might find it more enjoyable to work towards them. You can start with 1 if you like, but it is a little more simple especially compared to later titles. 2 is really engaging I think. Just keep in mind it is sprite, and can be a little more challenging in regards to save points in dungeons, which there aren't any, and that kind of thing. The FMVs they tacked on to the promos are really cool though. Helps to get into the game itself.
