    Creepy FF locations?

I know there are a few locations in the series which can be kind of creepy, but which ones do you think.

I thought of the question while playing FFXIII. I am now at Orphan's Cradle, which I actually find really creepy. Not sure why, but I think it's just the atmosphere. The music doesn't help either.

Another I think is creepy is underwater on FFVII. The fact that you've got Emerald Weapon swimming around freaks me out.

But yeah, what does everyone else think?

ShinRa Manor and Nibelhiem (FF VII) in general, at least when Cloud and co. visit there when he said the place had been burnt to the ground a few years previously. It doesn't help that there are black-cloaked figures around the town saying odd stuff about the "Reunion" that's supposed to happen.

Guadosalam (FF X) was a bit unsettling to me too. Might be because it was so close to the Farplane, which was full of dead people (or rather, pyreflies that took the form of dead people... ).

You know what location totally isn't unsettling in the least is? Zozo from FF VI. What a great place that is! That town is full of friendly and helpful citizens who only tell the absolute truth always. And the weather? MARVELOUS~

Zozo from FFVI. Just a really dark, creepy place with a freakin' dead person or two lying on the ground and just left here like it's no big deal.

The Phantom Train from FFVI. One of my favorite locations in any FF game. It's music is eerie. The ghosts everywhere can be creepy, especially the part where they form a group and start coming after you, while repeating the phrase "n.o. e.s.c.a.p.e."

The Desert Prison in VII was creepy to a big extent. Like Zozo in VI it has death in abundance as well as the nice, friendly fellows who never lie. What made it creepier was the huge contrast to the Golden Saucer.

Burmecia in IX is pretty creepy as well. A perpetually dark and rainy city where most of the inhabitants have been slaughtered, and as well as that you run into the most creepy characters in all of FF, Zorn and Thorn. What lets it down on the creepiness scale is the fact that the music exudes melancholy as opposed to anything surreal or creepy.

I would probably say the final floors of the Shinra building from VII. Nothing says creepy more than waking up finding everybody dead, a streak of blood leading upstairs, and a giant headless freak thing broken out of its 'cell'. The music doesn't help much either...

Actually, nearly any place in VII in which Jenova showed up was a creepy place to be.

    FINISH HIM!

    Haha, well said.

Hmm, well there were a few semi-creepy locations that I remember throughout the series but the one that stands out is Ultimecias Castle from FFVIII. Mainly because I wasn't sure what huge a** creature wanted to end my game next. Plus the music was a little on the macabre side.

The Nam-Yensa Sandsea felt kinda creepy during my first playthrough of XII although it had more to do with the music. It had an eerie feeling to it, almost like something was creeping up on you.

Speaking of FFXII, I think the creepy places in that one were the Necrohol of Nabudis, along with it's surrounding Nabreus Deadlands area. That, plus the dark world-like areas in the Pharos at Ridorana, when you walk into the chamber and it takes you to a dark land area.

I found the cave below Cosmo Canyon, where you go about discovering Nanaki's (Red XIII) heritage, very creepy. The music is creepy, the monsters are creepy and in all fairness the boss at the end is pretty creepy too.

Can't say I've ever been scared like I have in a survival horror like Resi Evil or Silent Hill though, but then again FF isn't meant to scare you and they are!

I know this probably is pretty stupid, but I got creeped out in XIII, at the Gapra Whitewood ... I just didn't like it, got really creeped

The Necrohol in XII was creepy, as was the underwater in VII as was mentioned earlier.

Inside Sin was horrible, because it reminded me of Pinocchio, and I love Pinocchio. You know when they're inside Monstro? Well inside Sin made me feel like I was watching a trippy version of Pinocchio ...

Underwater World in FFVII - it was amazing and creepy at the same time, especially with Emerald Weapon swimming around.

Orphan's Cradle was also a scary place for me, namely because it was such a different place to other typical endzones.

I agree with the above post. Beneath cosmo canyon was one of the creepiest places for me. The face gave me nightmares.
