Biggest FF 'WTF!?'

What do you think is FF's biggest moment or person that just made you go WTF!? Mine was when Arieth died. I know, I know, you are just like 'well duh!' but not because she died. I could care less, it moved the plot along. I was POed because she was my best character. I even got her final limit just outside Temple of Ancients. Then she leaves and dies........I was mad. Took me 3 hours of constant fighting to get it and for what?!

The same goes for me. I didn't like her but she was great with magic so I used her. I depended on her a lot when it comes to healing, and she was on a ****ing high level. And then that stupid Sephiroth kills her, I mean why he couldn't kill that damn Yuffie. WTF, I couldn't believe my own eyes, all my ****ing efort was for nothing. Then you must choose a character to replace her, then train him for a while, learn him a few limit breaks and... WTF!!

While playing FF5 for the first time and completing half of the game, just then I noticed there's more than 4 job classes. I was like what the ****?!

The part in VIII where you organise that huge thing for Squall and Rinoa. I mean it's bad enough that the guy is acting like a zombie a good majority of the game, and then he almost completely ignores her when their just hanging out. And then, randomly thrown in is something to get Squall "in the mood". Seriously? If two fairly attractive women constantly near by cant get his bloody attention why do you think a magazine would do it?

Oh, and the whole card game system in VIII, reading the rules, thinking you have a full understanding of the game, playing a warm up game, thinking your going to win, and then ONE CARD over turns everything you just played and they win. But thats just my beef with VIII. I mean no disrespect to the fans.

The biggest WTF?! so far for me.. was when Dyne died.. on a cLiff.. (FFVII) when I first pLayed this game.. I was thinking that maybe Dyne wouLd join Barret and the others due to that he aLso.. have the same mission/dream that they had.. to defeat the Shinra and Sephiroth.. but.. WTF? He just wasted his Life.. he can see her daughter (MarLene) if he wants but.. yeah.. I understand him.. he was gone for a Long time.. it wouLd be hurtfuL not to remember by your own daughter.. so yeah.. aLso..

The part in (FFXII) reveaLed that BaLthier was aLso became a Judge.. and he was the son of Cid.. hehe! Never thought a skypirate was once the discipLine provider for the townfoLks.. :-)

In FF 7, Tifa's mom dies and she says she is going to go look for her on Mt Niebelheim and she almost gets herself killed, Cloud who unlike her friends has the balls to tag along and eventually saves her from busting her ass bigtime, gets yelled at by the town and blamed for Tifa's own stupidity in getting herself hurt.

I have two. The first happened when Hojo revealed himself to be Seph's dad. The mere thought of Hojo "getting some" sends shivers to the core of my soul.

The second is when I encountered Demon Wall in FFVII. I died about 7 or 8 times before killing. Then I played FFIV and it showed up again.... S@#$!!!!! Then I played FFXII and TWO Demon Walls showed up which caused me to say a clearly audible, "WTF!?!?!?!?!!!"

FF6. You can fight the Ghost Train like a standard battle and probably get killed once or twice. Or you can kill it with one shot with the dreaded Phoenix Down of Hideous Death.


Shouldn't a PD turn the train back into a normal looking brand new railroad like Amtrack instead of a ferry for the damned


Ive always been confused about the whole using heal and life spells to hurt the dead. Instead of destroying them they should be turned back from zombies, thank you and go get a job at McDonalds.

I just got on the part of FF VI where Cele's fall's off the- Well... You know. But i was crying and i was saying WTF??? I know im such a dramaqueen ^^ But i think it's sad... But she's isnt dead ^^

Am I the only one who gets annoyed with the WTF staircases? There's one in pretty much every game...the never ending one that serves no purpose other than to irritate the hell out of you. Most notably in VII where even the party complains while they're running up it lol. Or the Pharos in XII which is essentially one giant staircase of WTF. It's just so...excessive. Airships and motorcycles and city-destroying fortresses and no one bothered to invent elevators? Come on.

Though granted, VII does have elevators...but the stupid keycard thing is just as annoying and still requires stairs.

I guess my biggest WTF is in FFVIII and the party is in Trabia Garden, and Irvine informs the group (excluding Rinoa) that they all were orphans and they all grew up together and that the Sorceress that they were trying to assassinate was actually the woman who basically raised all of them. It would have probably been nice if Irvine would have said something. Don't you think that is kind of important information, Irvine?

Another one would be in FFVII, the whole Honey Bee Inn scene, if you make Cloud go into the Group Room...

Ah, I have never thought of that before. That is pretty creative. But it's completely the truth. To emphasize the point that the level is unique, they expand the length of the walkway and such about five times greater. It was especially annoying in some of them where you are running back and forth between them to get in and out of the place.

I could handle the fact that a guy of Hojo's intelligence would not be bothered doing the horizontal bop with a chick. He'd rather make a testtube baby. That seems more his style.

Actually I think my biggest FF WTF moments have nothing to do with the in game progress or anything to do with the characters. I know I am not the only person this has happened to before.

Scenario one:

After playing a few hours, making some great progress not only in story but over all character leveling and side quests you are sitting there feeling like the king of the world and then blam-o the room goes off and you hear the sound of your TV powering down and you think to yourself “when was the last time I saved?” and it turns out it was 6 hours ago.

Scenario two:

You have just made it to the tower of Babel in FFVI/II (SNES) save and turn it off in hopes of coming back the next day and pick back up where you left off. You wake up the next morning flip the old 2.5” power button towards the cartridge to find out that the internal battery failed some time during the night not only can you not load your game because it has been erased from existence but you also can not save anything because it to will be claimed by the dreaded dark mass that is known as nothingness.

Scenario C:

After romper stomping through 3 discs of FFVII, mastering master materia, maxing out level and stats, obtaining every weapon imaginable and defeating every weapon, spending god knows how many hours at the gold saucer playing the submarine game / snowboarding game and owning your virtual dream condo property at Costa Del Sol you find it is high time to take down the baddie but you need to go get something to eat and let the eye strain from the day mellow out before watching the awesome visuals at the end of the game so you save and power down the trusty Playstation.

After gorging yourself and letting your eyes move to something les pixilated (like bouncing boobies) you are ready to save the world and knock that blazing ball of fire back to oblivion with an over sized baseball bat. You power up you consol get the tubes fired up in the trusty 26” non hi-def TV press start on your controller followed by down and x you see the gem that is your save file click it and it goes to the infamous load screen, you wait diligently, after a few moments you find yourself screaming at the PS wondering what the hell is going on and then it comes; a prompt appears on the screen “data file corrupted.”

So in closing

I think you can fully understand why these are my BIGGEST FF WTF moments and before you ask, yes I have had ALL 3 happen to me.
