Wow you have got to be shitting me dude. I can't believe it. You're gonna have to post your source, man. I just can't believe something this ludacris.
Okay a lot of people may not know this (and this is really starting to tick me off) but Arieth, the chick from Final Fantasy VII is actually Aries. Yes that means that Crisis Core, Advent Children, all of them after VII for PS1 messed up. You may not believe me but I swear I'm telling the truth. I've got proof! I have the walkthrough for the original game.

You confused me...which in reality isn't all that hard to do, but I'm gonna try to understand what you're trying to say.
I think you're wondering why Aeris' name is changed in the different games from Aeris to Aerith. There's a reason for that. I believe that it was a "mistake" in the Japanese-to-English translation of the game.
Quote from Wikipedia:
If that's not what you meant, then please elaborate a little more.Aerith's original Japanese name is エアリス Earisu, pronounced [eaɽisu̥] ( listen). This has been transliterated to "Aeris" in Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy Tactics, but later as "Aerith". Both transliterations have basis, as the Japanese "su" (ス) is used when transcribing "s" (/s/) and "th" (/θ/) to Japanese. However, official Japanese material uses the spelling "Aerith",[8][9][10] and developers have stated that "Aerith" is a near-anagram of the English word "Earth".[11]

I have an American made strategy guide for a Japanese game so it must be true.
Aries true name is Aerith.
So, wait. Aeris is really an astrological sign? Or Aerith is really a ram?
HOLY SHIT EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE NOW.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."
Crao Porr Cock8. Bitch.
Isn't this one of those personal prefrence things? Yeah, Square "messed up" or whatever you want to call it the first time around when translating VII back in '97 but since then they've rectified it and given us American audiences the "proper" name translation.
So I wouldn't say that AC, Kingdom Hearts, and Crisis Core got it wrong; they just changed the translation. And that's why people still call her by both names.
I know I was a bit harsh with the whole "messed up" thing. But come on. If you were going to make a game, would you give a character the wrong name from an original?
