Woooo art thread!

Lessee. I have a few of old banners that I'd like to share... so I'll start with those. And once those have enough time to be digested, I'll throw out some photography. And maybe a few miscellaneous things. I really just wanted to put a lot of this stuff in one place.

Aww. I just realized that many of my old banners are lost because I made them on old computers and I hosted them on Adam's (my brother's) old website. Ah well, it's not like they weren't a bunch of photos mooshed together with Paint.

Oh well, let's start!

Note: Since there's so much stuff, I'd suggest going straight to the Photoshop stuff if you want something kind of pretty. The paint stuff is for funsies.

Avies:

My first avy.... ever. I believe Toph made this for me and I'm still grateful. I thought I'd put this up for memory's sake.

Paint Avies:

The first avy I made for myself. Well, the first one after my Moulin Rouge phase, I think... oh lord, who knows. This was 2004, most likely.

I used Paint pretty often. Yeeeep.

I went through a "this is my picture with text" phase in 2005. In this case, it's a RBF reference.

I think this was James's favorite. Avenue Q reference.

It's true.

I don't know what I was thinking.

I think this was Christmas of 2004. Aww.

Photoshop Avies:

Spot color! I found you!

Ah yes, my leaf hair.

And my yin yang avy. 2006, I think, for both of those.

Christmas of 2006. I wanted to continue my Santa hat tradition.

Paint banners:

One of the earliest banners I still have, and it's still only from 2005-ish. It was in response to something Daniel made that got me all pissy.

And then I made a few for those who were still regulars in the TFFchat on AIM. So much drama over this shit. But I thought they were adorable, so I kept making them.

And I wanted to do one for New Years with a whole lot of members, but I only got this far. Maybe I'll try again someday.

Oh, and then there was this. My response to the "LocoColt04" is a n00b fad that went around for a while. Because goddamnit, I wanted to be sassy. Also, har har har Papyrus, I didn't know anything.

Hmm. Oh, and while we're at it, here's a drawing of my face I did recently. I should have taken a picture before I cut it out and glued it somewhere, but I'll live.

Here we are. Mechanical pencil and printer paper. I am such a professional.

So I'll let that be it for now and we can do photography another time. Enjoy the picture vomit. You'll probably need like five days to look at it all.

Hahaha, the paint ones are pretty cute, haha. I used to make similar ones... I remember when Jintatsu and I used to post together a lot and I used to call him an array of names in little banners... I remember Bintatsu and Jinratsu. Cute stuff. XD

I love the Photoshop ones, though. Especially the Autumny one you did last year. I remember thinking it was really Earthy and fitting.

I also like that Christmassy one you had up a month or two ago. It was really rustic looking ... and much more traditional Christmassy than a lot of people can get these days.

What else? Yes, the one you had up for a while after Christmas. It looks like it could be an album cover for progressive rock band Dream Theater. Very nice.

Thanks, Chez! And yeah, I was talking to Andy about the Paint ones last night and thought it would be a little funny to make one of the staff.

And thank you for the Photoshop remarks.

Looking back on them, I can reeaaally tell when I took that computer art class. Before that, I was just kind of figuring things out on my own

Photoshop
Here's another thing I did while I was figuring things out. I've put this up before. I still like the idea I was working with, though. I might revisit it someday.

Gouache paint on foamcore board
It's a project I made for 2D. We had to design a skateboard template using a celebrity, black and white and one color.I chose Julie Andrews. It's a little skewed because this was taken with Daniel holding it up, but... you get the idea.

Gouache paint, plaster, and fake leather shoes from Goodwill
Color theory project. We had to pick a song and use color on a pair of shoes to illustrate that song. I chose "I Need More Love" by Robert Randolph. It made me think of New Orleans.

Random goofoffs
Daniel wanted a Pokemon cake for his birthday, and I couldn't find one in the supermarket. So I got some frosting and made one. Cake skills.

My pumpkin I carved last Halloween. It counts as art!

All right. Let's do photographs.

I don't have a super nice camera, and I don't consider myself a photographer... I'm a performing arts major. But every now and then I pull out my shiny pink digital camera (I've never been a pink person, but this camera is fun) and take a quick shot. I think someday I'd like a nicer camera, but I'm set for now.

Let's do some pictures.

When I first got the camera and found out I could take pictures of flowers without them being blurry. Orange!

And now my trip to Wyoming.

The Grand Tetons. They're easy to photograph.

I CARE.

I didn't do anything because I had homework and an 8AM class the next day... but I still cared.

I would have had a bunch of pancakes if IHOP hadn't changed free pancake day to NEXT Tuesday. Ugh.

Oh, and the pug in my daily dog calendar had beads on and she was so cute. I celebrated that pug.

Woah, these are really nice. Each one of them is just perfect. The way the picture was taken. The way you had captured those moments, these are freaking cool!

I like the Mardi Gras banner too. No one celebrates it over here either except at my old school. Yay for beads, fondu, and virgin margaritas.

Thank you, Fishie! That was incredibly nice of you. To be honest, though, sunrises at the beach are easy mode.

Yay Mardi Gras! St. Pat's is next and I'm a little excited.

Today, I have switched out my banners so I'll post the old one here.
Valentine's Day!

I was never completely happy with my text, but I never got around to playing with it some more.

Also, while I was making the banner I have up now, I made this one. It was sort of a toss-up on which one I wanted to use. But I figure the one I have now is a little less... MEEEE.

But here is my first experiment for a spring banner.

I don't think I'm done with the one up now. But I have a paper to do so I'll come back to it.

Photographs will be... soon. And I might consider putting up whatever I can of performance type stuff. Seeing as that's my major and all. I guess at some point, I could put up old pictures from shows. If that would be interesting to anyone. Hmm.

But anyway! There you go.

Nice Ally! I've always been a fan of your photos, mostly those in millions of albums on FaceBook. Nice to see some graphics and photos. I love the bridge pictures the most.

Thank you, Danica! I'm glad there are no adverse reactions to report.

Lessee! I have costume renderings. They're for a project I'm working on for Production Design. We pick someone who was supportive (hero) and someone who was not supportive (villain) and we describe a dinner with each of them. With that, we have to do these costume renderings (along with making a menu and getting fabric swatches).

I'm nearly done, but I got a little excited, so I thought I'd share what I have.

For my hero, I picked:
My daddy!
I wish I'd had the option of multiple heroes, though. But still, I do love my dad. And he's been someone to look up to all my life.

For my villain:
Mrs. Bonaminio, my 7th and 8th grade math teacher. She might be the worst teacher I have ever had. An added bonus is that my Dad and Mom "vanquished" her, in their own way. And yes, that is a black bra that you can see through her ugly shirt because she did that shit all the time. And she always had chalk all over her. And she didn't really have any lips, so she put a thin line of bright red lipstick where they would be to make up for it. And then there was the crazy orangered hair thing.

So there you have it.

EDIT: That chalkboard is SO high off the ground. I did it on a whim and I don't care.

...I kind of care. But not enough to the drawing over.

Haha thank you, Cesar! And yes, she is. But my parents made her freak out in front of the principal, so it's okay.

I have my final sketches! Nothing major changed, but my dad's beard looks normal now, and there's a bit more contrast, etc etc. LOOK AT THEM.

I also did a 6 page menu for my dad's dinner and I ended up with a bunch of new knowledge about Greek food. Greek yogurt and thyme honey (yiaourti me mele) is now on my shopping list for this weekend.

I really like your work. The idea of one for each seasons was good. I really like the winter 2007 - 2008. It has ha the feel that its right. It perfect not too much effect or to little detail, just the right balance. The spring one was really good also.

The photos you took of the water falls were really. Can i use one of them for a sig? =)
