that is a great picture i used to draw but i has no scanner and i may will probably start drawing again sometime over easter holidays
Hi everyone. I guess after doing a drawing of Tifa, i got kinda hooked on to drawing her. So, here's the end product. I did this drawing really fast, so i think there maybe stuff that wasn't too well developed in this art, such as the shoes. I always have problems with the shoes! Anyways, any critism or so on is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

her stance needs improving, she looks like she's about to fall over. Once again i would just say its fairly accurate to the character but the lines and colouring need work. If your interested i would happily give some links for those things. and if you want to improve your figure drawings i can recommend some books and links.
You're right about the way she's standing. I kinda laughed when I saw the end picture, but I posted it anyways. Again, you're right about the coloring. I wanted it to turn out better, but my coloring skills needs more developing
Oh yeah, thanks so much for being helpful enough to offer to give links to improve my drawings! That is really nice of you, seriously. Thanks again for the constructive crit!

well most of the tutorials are for photoshop that have to do with colouring and such but you can easily use the lessons on how colours are used for real traditional medias. Not as hard as it sounds since if you can't colour then you can't use bot mediums (traditional and digital) since the only thats different between them is the way they are used, so colour theory and such stays the same.
so here are some links:
[translation]LINRAN's Light and Colour Tutorial + Mini tut || BIG download! - ConceptArt.org Forums
CGTalk - TUTORIAL - Texture Tips in Digital Painting (Photoshop) - by zhuzhu
More Figures & Class Demos - ConceptArt.org Forums - this one has nudity! not bad nudity like drawing naked people, i dont think its that handy but you can see the guys process and such.
CGTalk - How To Paint In Photoshop - this is just a thread of suggestions and such.
Skin Shading - this may be listed in one of the threads above.
Fun With a Pencil - Non-fiction, Books, and loomis - something to make drawing fun!
Andrew Loomis - Drawing Heads
Andrew Loomis - Drawing the Head and Hands - art, Tutorial, and drawing - im not sure if this is just the drawing head thing combined with another, but i included the "drawing heads one" just in case it goes into more detail about heads.
Andrew Loomis - Successful Drawing_by ABhijeet
Andrew Loomis - Creative Illustration from 1947 - i included this b/c it may be a better quality then the one listed above, not to sure im lazy.
Andrew Loomis - Figure Drawing - IMPORTANT!
Andrew Loomis - Creative.illustration - another version just in case.
Search for " Andrew Loomis" | Scribd - in case some books dont work or something.
STILL NOT DONE XD
here are some books you can look at after looking at the anatomy/ face ones (the illustration stuff isn't demanding)
Search for "Burne Hogarth" | Scribd
i dont want to over take you with links so here is just a search on his books, im sure you can pick out the ones that work and such. Burne Hogarth is the author your looking for .
So once you got the basic anatomy down start drawing from life and you will be much better at bodies. Anime is something i would recommend learning after realism since anime makes its roots in realism so learning the roots makes you the master of the whole tree.
- i hope i dont get in trouble for giving links to another forum but the forums that i gave have nothing to do about games and just art mostly. Unless fan art counts.

Hey, that's really helpful, Myst! Thanks so much for the concern. Really, people on this forum are the most helpful and welcome I've ever seen on on any forum. Now this will probably help my drawing a lot!
Np, if your interested that concept art forum is a good site as well, you can make sketchbook and post your stuff and most of the time the people will help you get better.
