Just posting a sample from my story. the story itself is set in my own final fantasy world. the scene takes place near the end of the book. the antagonist has reached the shrine and the few lead characters have passed the deep caverns.
----------------------------------------------
Lumination was coming from ahead. the light of the morning was breaking into the cave. as the group came through the tunnel, with their eyes he beheld such wonder. tree's stretching high into the sky practically as high as the mountains they passed through.
"The gods themselves could not have made a better place." utter Siegfried in awe of the panoramic view.
mist was rolling from the mountain side as the giant red pine tree created a canopy which let in small but many rays of light into the forest floor. the moisture was fresh and invigorating to the body. a small beaten path followed from the cave, Siegfried checked the tracks and using his powers of the geomancy learned from the ground and the trees that many men passed through here not to long ago.
As they travel along the road cautiously and on guard for anything that could happen. Tyrnos and June thought it a good idea to tell Siegfried that they should move ahead and scout, though he was reluctant to allow his allies to get into harms way he allowed it. watching as Tyrnos in heavy plated armor jumping from a kneeling position to touch the canopy of the tree line, June used a smoke pellet and disappeared.
Coming down the road after several hours, Siegfried, Amelia, and Rythryn reach what looks to be like a temple made from a hollowed out tree stump that is five times larger then the giant trees that were here. Siegfried noticed Rythryn shudder and that was the most emotion he had ever seen Rythryn show...ever.
The temple itself lined of a gargantuan wooden stump growing near the side of a mountain, Long walls aligned around the stump as to force people to go through the main gate entrance. the walls of stone looked smooth as if they had taken many years of time and care to make this wall to look as if it would be a gift to the gods themselves. as the moved closer to the walls, slightly glowing runic markings came over the wall itself, even closer they begin to see reflections of themselves, a hint of a polish shine went into the making of this place. Upon entering the intitial door way of this building it is open area with a main stair way going up to the main doors perched just at the stump.
"no use going that way..." Tyrnos quietly pointed out..
"Wow! Tyrnos, nice entrance. lets down play the scary reunion." Sieg said.
"Shhhh!" June tried to quiet Siegfried down.
Tyrnos pushed everyone back against the wall. Just as three dark knights were just coming around the corner from a corridor to the right. making there way out they stop and have a quick glance around. Amelia held her breath and covered her face with her white hat. the dark knights satisfied began to talk about their last raid on the Dormi kingdom, upon disappearing to a corridor to the left, everyone relaxed and slowly began to move in.
"As i was going to say geomancer, this place is crawling with Darks, id like to avoid a battle till after we get inside." grunted Tyrnos.
"From my scouting, i noticed a small base camp at the top of the steps, but they don't want anyone taking a direct route up there so the stairs are broken up half way up. best we find another way around" June suggested.
Tyrnos and Sieg nodded and got everyone slowly moving down the right corridor. Amelia cast a barrier spell behind them to make sure they would not be followed. cautiously moving along, and a few close calls with the dark knight patrols going through the maze like halls. the group finally make it to the entrance. the big stone door decorated in brightly glowing runic symbols showing pictographs of what seems to be various beasts and people as well as what must be assumed to be the crystals. and much like June said before there were the dark knights camped at the base of the door.
"okay, battle plan...." Siegfried began to think. "I got nothing" and everyone gave him a very disappointed look.
Rythryn moved forward. "June take the left flank and Tyrnos to the right flank. Siegfried take the front and Amelia and myself will do our best with casting. ill pick off the stragglers if i can."
everyone looked around to see if there was complaints and no one had a look of doubt, Siegfried never gets amazed at how much knowledge that Rythryn seems to have. June quickly ran into her position and hid behind a pillar waiting for the order, Tyrnos jumped off and too hid behind a pillar once he was in position.
Siegfried began to draw markings which he memorized from Old gigras's journal. he buried a Poison Elm leaf and from there vines began to grow and multiply, expanding out and slithering across the ground moving towards the camp. Siegfried pulled out his staff and his Elemental ball. rushing in just as the vines made there way into the camp, jumping onto some crates and over a tent, he tossed his ball hitting a dark knight sitting infront of a camp fire in the face knocking him out cold.
"NOW!" as Siegfried brought down his staff on another dark knights chest plate.
Dust flew as June came in throwing her kunai blades and hitting selected dark knights either in the open shoulder areas or between the face grills of their helmets. she gets over to Siegfrieds back and jumps off of it and lands her feet on the shoulders of a trapped dark knight in some vines.
Tyrnos bounds in with a thunderous jump. driving in his lance into the ground, the sheer force of his landing toppled over several dark knights and blew out the fire in the encampment, as a scythe was about to come down on the back of Tyrnos's neck a blast of lightning hits the knight and sends him on the ground in a convulsion. Rythryn just smiles and launches more lightning spells.
a few seconds have passed into the bout and Amelia just looks in sheer awe of everything that happened. "Wow, now i know why they call you the Dragoon king." she said as preparing a spell, using a moderate healing spell, the white mage finishes her work and takes a deep breath.
"Thanks Amelia, but no time to relax, on the other side of these doors are the crystals that Kirlyn is after. we need to hurry and end this and get back to Charbeck and the others." Siegfried said while scanning the faces of everyone else.
in agreement they all used their efforts to push open the giant doors of the citadel, bright it was inside the great hall and in the center of the entire room, where the open roof exposed the sunlight to the six crystals. glowing brightly as the danced around as if floating on the air. and there just near them stood Kirlyn.

so that is near the end of the story. this part was shorter but im always constantly adding more parts to the story to extend it or add more detail which i thought it was lacking. A LOT more work needs to be done. but id like to hear what you think.
