Today literature snippets takes extracts from the back of my english book, yep the poetry I did instead of working. Yay.

Regardless these three poems were made to be structured in a similar style, as if the same person was telling them at different points of time. I'm not really that happy with how it came out I feel that they all work much better as stand alone poems but meh

Spirit

Am I here?
Right beside you watching, waiting, hoping
...
You can't even see me

I am the love you lost
A friend once living
Unable to pass on to my rest
Trapped behind the veil

Please I beg you, see me, touch me
I pray for release from this torture
But in the end I'm alone, with eternity streched in front of me
And the slow winding path to insanity

Shade

Can you see me?
Standing here by your side
...
No?

I am your shade
The dark reflection of your soul
Ever changing, ever watching
Stalking in you shadow

But do not fear the flicker in the dark
Though I can see I cannot touch
Nor claw, nor gauge, nor rend your flesh
Just a spectre tethered to your soul

Void

Nothing left
Even the insanity has passed
...
Why wont it end?

What is the meaning for my pain
Punishment, judgement, or was I just forgotten
Cut adrift from heaven, hell, and all that lies between
End me now!

No, I am a nothing worthy of nothing
Capable of possessing nothing
Nothing to lose, nothing to gain
And nothing is eternal

Now I flip the page to let forth another stream of words. These poems don't really have a purpose or direction, no it's more like they're a reflection of my odd mood today. The topics fleeting, distant, almost whimsical. That's how they appear to me, strange and alien yet behind it I see my own thoughts. The last one though, oh I don't know, I should probably stop reading so many romance books.

As yet untitled
I don't want anyone to understand me
To believe that they could just from my words or actions
No, no , no, no, no, no, NO!
It is vile, filthy, disgusting
No one truly knows each other
We just think we do
And because of this we think we can help with other peoples problems
And in blind stupidity we only make it worse
Just accept it, it's not our place to know another's heart

As yet untitled
High in the sky, blinking down on us
We all watch the stars
Believing, as we do
That friends and lovers long since moved away are staring upwards too
Remembering us as we remember them
Smiling in the light of an unatainable star
And even if the star was snuffed out at that very moment
We would never know
We just keep smiling
And believe the star is true

As yet untitled
'Love me' she said
Her eyes red and raw with tears
Staring into mine
A mix of anger and despair
Her pain and anguish a mirror of my own
And all I could do was to lean forward and whisper lightly in her ear
'I wish I could'
