Craven's a poet and he didn't even know it.

Okay, sorry for the rather stale title lol. I just thought I would start this as I gained a recent interest in poetry. And this is well, my very first poem ever, and I thought I would share it with you guys. Enjoy:

    Always.

    The years go by
But you made it all better

You were there for me when others weren’t
    Waiting, always waiting.
But that on night, everything changed
    The pictures haunt me still
Like a spirit, you persist and persist
Hallowing, wondering and always finding your way back

The pictures on my wall grow weary and tired
Tired from the memories that made it all worthwhile.
Good things in life were hard to find you said
You were never hard to find, you were there, always.

All good things come to an end
The end was too close, and you were too far.
Memories are all I have left.
    Shattered memories.

You showed me this over MSN.. I absolutely love it, to be honest.

Especially considering it's your first poem.. Wow. It sounds nice.. Flows beautifully, your choice of words is lovely, and it doesn't feel like it's trying too hard to have perfect rythm, as alot of first poems seem to.

Very nice. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks Froggie. Got another one I wrote while I should have been doing my english assignment. Comment and tell me what you guys think. Positive and Negative comments are welcome.

    Waves

    The salty sandbanks, drifting, slowly
    The fish, swimming
    The dolphins, riding
    The jellyfish, floating
Through the waves without a care in the world

    The sun goes down
The once silent waves thrash and crack like lightning
    The sandbanks are no more
Only a lonely gutter, destroyed from the ravage of the waves
The sharks, waiting for their prey
The blue bottles, waiting for their victim
Stingrays, waiting, just waiting to impale.
Through the vicious waves with a meaning of ill intent

The sun comes up once again
The waves return to the calm, delicate way they were
The sand banks slowly drift back into the place they call home
    And I swim.
Swim through the waves without a care in the world.

As I've said on MSN dude, these are both really good. The first one shows how much potential you have for that being your first poem ever. Your selecion of imagery is really amazing. You got some talent there.

The second I like a lot. Could definitely be a song you wanna play at the beach. Just put some words of girls in bikinis or without them. This pwns half the mainstream music out there. I expect some reward for proposing this rockin idea.

Thanks Dimi. I got another one I made up when I was playing Zelda. Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated ^^.

    Ruler of the Kingdom:

    Mighty ruler
    Sword and shield drawn
    Ready for the battle
That will change his life at dawn

    The battlefield
    Innocent lives lost
    Blood over his cherished land
    It came at a cost

    10 years he was told
    To set things right
    Forever in the shadows
    Forever continuing the fight

    10 years past
But he never saw the light
Only to realize it was a fleeting dream
In the end, there was nothing to fight

I love your poems. I dunno why really, I just do. First ones I actually paid attention to. Which means...that you've obviously caught my attention.

I particularly like the first poem. Same reason as Fishie.

I just like the way they're written. They're nice. Keep at it!

haha The Zelda one is awesome dude. This gave me a picture in LoZoc when you're at Hyrule field riding on that horse and getting that arrow to aim at someone's ass. Another great job.

Shall I Compare Thee To A Summers Day?
    Sonnet 18

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
    And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed.
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
    Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st,
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

    William Shakespeare
I really love this poem. I dunno why. I just do.
