Since I just recently got my cellphone service back, I have taken the opportunity to upload more ringers to my phone. My phone is a few years old and can only support polyphonic MIDIs, but it is far and away better than my previous monotone phone. I'm sure most of you do not have such variance with your own phones. Most people don't care about this sort of thing.
But I do.
I keep all of my ringers video game themed, and they each hold a special significance that allow me to identify the caller in as little as two notes. This is the list of my ringers and who/what they are used for:
Starfox, options screen - a friend
Super Mario RPG, "Nimbus Land" - my sister
Mario's Time Machine, Timesurfing - used primarily for my alarm
Donkey Kong Country 2, Swanky's minigame music - a friend
Mega Man 3, Top Man - a friend who makes my head spin
Zelda series, Puzzle sound - text message alert
Super Mario 64, "Wing Cap" - callers who are not programmed in my phone
Zelda 2, "House" - my home phone line
Super Mario: RPG, "Forest Maze" - callers who are programmed in my phone but do not have a unique ringtone
Super Double Dragon, Stage 3-1 - a friend
Mega Man 4, Pharaoh Man - my friend who likes Egyptian history and mythology
Zelda: Twilight Princess, "Serenade of Water" - a friend
Mario Kart 64, "Koopa Beach" - a friend
Mario Kart: Double Dash, "Rainbow Road" - my cousin who hates Rainbow Road
Zelda: Link to the Past, "Dark World" - used as an alarm sometimes
Metroid series, Item fanfare - picturemail alert
Castlevania: Bloodlines, "Sinking Old Sanctuary" - a friend
Mario series, 1up sound - voicemail alert
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES), early sewer levels - a friend who enjoys punishing himself with this game
Castlevania: Bloodlines, "Bloodlines" - my dad
Zelda series, "Ganon's Theme" - the evil step-mother
As you can see, it lacks anything Final Fantasy and is primarily Nintendo-heavy. This is intentional.

Hero façade. Villain at heart.
