But my absolute *favorite* thing about Disgaea is when Nessa dressed up as Etna for one of those cons years ago.

Aside from geopanels, most other SRPGs are probably a lot more tedious. When I played Fire Emblem for the GBA I was going nuts because I couldn't take back movements. Sometimes I would move to the wrong square by accident and proceed to headbutt my DS across the room. That really forces you to tread slowly. Of course if you don't work fast enough some bastard barbarian will raze a town you could have liberated.

Don't they do that in Fire Emblem? Now that I think about it I'm not so sure.

DON'T TALK ABOUT SRPGS THAT WAY!

    :'(

I do not find most SRPGs tedious at all... in fact, Disgaea is the MOST tedious SRPG i've played. Not thats its very tedious, but sometimes playing it feels like a chore. It's still fun, but it's no Tactics Ogre or Shining Force haha.. but i'm biased..

I will admit SRPGs are not for everyone.. maybe i'm just a fanatic... i tried to get my friend Nick to play Tactics Ogre on GBA and he got bored of it.

D&D Tactics is nice because it uses initiative rolls to determine who goes when, so you don't have to keep scrolling/tabbing around looking for guys you haven't moved yet.

Disgaea could use some interface changes to streamline the experience. What I really, really want is an action that lets me repeat the previous action from the last round (attacking, heal X person if possible, etc.). What also bothers me is the fact that if I set a Healer to heal/buff someone and then move that target before executing the action, the Healer just sorta forgets the order. But I honestly think the fact that I can cancel movements and stuff makes for a lot of flexibility. Hardcore SRPGs are fun, but it's really only something you can do when you have a clear mind. Especially when permadeath is involved.

Maybe it's that flexibility that makes Disgaea so tedious to some people though...There's so much you can capitalize on. You could spend tons of time on a single turn.

I really need D&D Tactics now.

I should start Disgaea back up again. I believe I got into the 9th or 10th chapter before I stopped playing PS2 games altogether for that stretch of time. I don't find it very tedious on the whole, but certain aspects of it could certainly use tweaking---the Dark Assembly being one of them.

I think I spent the last 10 hours of play time in the Item World. I keep powering up items and finding other items to power up while I'm in there. It's a never ending cycle and I love it.
    Hero façade. Villain at heart.

I don't normally forget, but having to do it every time I want to dial a number or take a picture gets annoying. Maybe there's a shortcut or something though. Still, I'd like if I could just pull a switch to lock it, hehe.

Sony Ericson's do have a shortcut... don't know if you've figured it out by now, but it's just menu star... least to my knowledge it should be... to lock and unlock your phone... if that's not it.. it's something and star... lol...

Yeah, haha. You can hit any button and then just press * to unlock it. It's just that when I was taking pictures a lot or having to make calls a lot, I'd constantly have to unlock and relock it so it wouldn't dial while it was in my pocket. Hold switches on mp3 players are genius. =P Maybe it'd be easier if I knew of a shortcut to lock it.

Or maybe phones should include hold switches?

That would be a highly intelligent thing to do.

Then in that case, get a flip phone, You don't deserve to use one if you can't lock/unlock your phone with the shortcut =P haha

  14. #104
Flip phones are so out of style now ...

Also I totally bought Persona 3. Haha.

    Excellent for you!

And I have some friends with some pretty ghetto flip phones... their cameras don't have locking functionality, so they're always taking pictures of their pockets.

Mine doesn't do that. I don't really get it.
