Actually, there was a fluke with usergroups. However, she's the co-head of the Conan clan. Can we do that?
Well, as anyone who has highbridge access can see (and I think that's everyone), somehow Alisyn ended up with access to SOLDIER. Now, however that happened, since we've seemed to have made some big fuss in the Highbridge about it, I'd just like to ask why there's any reason she shouldn't be let in. About the only one I can think of is that we're adhering to some strict member limit. If that's not the case...am I missing something? Because I think everyone would vote for her(or, rather, I can't think of anyone who wouldn't). Maybe I'm putting this up because I know she's a friend of mine and of a lot of other people in here, but unless we're adhering to some strict limit of X number of members.

The way Daniel was trying to explain to me was that supposedly Conan isn't a part of EBG and Conan and SOLDIER aren't mutually exclusive. This wasn't exactly what I had believed, especially considering it's a subforum of EBG, but I figure someone has something really confused.

While we're "why not"-ing, why not Psiko? And why wasn't he considered earlier? Was it a matter of "oh, he's not active enough" or something like that? PSH, 70% of SOLDIER members don't post here (in this forum) anyway.

James, if you want to let people in, you have to actually TELL Merlin or S to put them on our list. It doesn't just magically happen.
So Alisyn's in, and Psiko is pending on response from you guys. S asked me about Whitney. Hadn't we considered her originally as well? She's active again, so I see no harm in it. After all, she's quite the respected member from where I sit, and apparently has a history with the pre-clan SOLDIER.

I think the reason why so few people are posting here (myself included) is because there isn't a myriad things to do at the moment. We're still in the re-birth stage of SOLDIER, so to speak. Even the RP is already dead, which is sad. You guys should post - it would at least give us something to do in that sense. So, um, yeah. *tosses two cents in SOLDIER's general direction*
Let's not forget that school (in this sense for most of us, college) is full in session, so we're not always active.

So... okay, I guess that means I need to get active in here. I can definitely give it a shot. I'll work on catching up on what's going on in the RP, and see if I can't post something.
And yeah, I think the problem with activity is that there's nothing to really... do. Activity rose with the controversy with the Red Wings (oh my God... Faye... cough...) because everyone loves controversy. The Chosen got back on their feet, and so did EBG and Conan. Heck, Conan even has it's own subforum now. But everyone hates controversy too, so it ended when people got sick of fighting. That's my take on it, anyway. I guess... well, no, I'm not voting that we raise hell or anything, but there has to be something we can do that will interest people.
Eh, I'll think about it... and you should too. Because one of you will probably figure something out before I will.

Anywho, so any word on whether or not we're going to add Psiko to our forces or has this thread turned into the Alisyn show? Because I'm not saying there's any problem with that. I'd watch it. But still... I told David I'd put in a word for him, and he'd be a MAJOR impact in keeping the RP rolling (as well as just a good person to have around in general... but mostly his RP skills). Yes, that was horrible. Leave me alone, and go chop down a cherry tree or something useless like that.
I'll put up my next RP post soon. I've got to put together 20 "Did you know?" facts about the campus (about 40 words apiece) along with 14 quotes from people who have been in the news, including one each from Bush and Kerry; all of this is due next Wednesday, and it's no easy feat -- I'll be gone all this weekend for my aunt's wedding, missing four days of vital research time for the "Did you know?" article. Painful, yes. And once I get all of that done, I get my assignment for a full-page article. And maybe, Jessica says, if I'm lucky, she might swing me a two page article instead.
1 page = 30 inches.
$1.50 per column inch
60 inches * $1.50 = a possible $90 for my article this semester.
That's added on top of a good $50 for the quotes and facts. Yum.

Just had nothing to say, really, and still don't...at least nothing worth leaving FFXI for a prolongued period of time.
OLD SKOOL - A positive appellation referring to when things weren't flashy but empty of substance, were done by hard work, didn't pander to the lowest common denominator, and required real skill. Labour-saving devices, shortcuts that reduce quality and quitting before the task is done are not characteristics of "old skool."
In reference to computer games, refers to a game that had substantial playability without flashy graphics or eye candy. Old skool gamers appreciate difficult maneuvers, careful planning, and scorched earth policies.
In reference to role-playing games, old skool refers to games that tested players' wits, could kill off careless characters, and required dedication and inner strength to play. Old skool games didn't pander to the ideas that everyone is created equal, that all options are open to all races, that the markets were somehow free, and that a quasi-medieval society could have near 100% literacy.
